Roller coaster fanatics, buckle up. With record-breaking dive coasters and innovative track designs, the new roller coasters 2019 has to offer are mind-blowing. Think you’re ready to take them on?

1. Tigris

Among the best new roller coasters 2019 is Tigris at Busch Gardens Tampa. Set to be Florida’s tallest launch coaster, Tigris boasts:

  • Multiple looping twists
  • Forward and backward motion
  • A 150-foot sky surge
  • An inverted heartline roll
  • Speeds of 60+ miles per hour
  • More than 1,800 feet of steel track

The coaster is modeled after the agility and power of a tiger and also seeks to educate riders about conservation efforts through the ride queue and gift shop.

2. West Coast Racers

Six Flags Magic Mountain is bringing the iconic West Coast Customs team into the roller coaster world. This side-by-side coaster has four different high-speed launches and is being called the “World’s First Racing Launch Coaster.” Specs for the coaster include:

  • Four magnetic launches (a record breaker!) including a side-by-side first and second launch
  • Four inversions, including three zero-G rolls and a zero-G stall
  • Side-by-side airtime hills
  • Side-by-side overbanked turns
  • 14 track crossovers plus a high-five opportunity for 15 train interactions per lap
  • 55 mph speeds

On top of the impressive coaster elements, this ride also includes a pit stop with the West Coast Customs team for an inside look at their shop. That is, before you’re launched into yet another race!

3. Batman: The Ride

Only true thrill seekers and adrenaline junkies will be able to conquer the flips, drops, and free-falling sensation of Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. You’ll flip head-over-heels through at least six different inversions, creating an unexplainable feeling of weightlessness as you soar through the track.

And, since you’re suspended outside of the track, you’ll feel like you’re flying, falling, soaring, and catapulting through the 120-foot-tall coaster with a 90-degree hill.

This brand-new roller coaster is being built in Joker Plaza.

4. Copperhead Strike

One of the most anticipated new roller coasters 2019 will introduce is Copperhead Strike at Carowinds. This double launch coaster has an intriguing backstory; one that involves snakes, moonshine, and crazy Grannies!

Carowinds released the following details about the brand-new ride:

Copperhead Strike adds to Carowinds already impressive line-up of roller coasters including Fury 325, the tallest and fastest giga coaster around.

5. Maxx Force

Six Flags Great America is attempting to break as many records as possible with Maxx Force in 2019. The park’s revolutionary addition is set to be the fastest launch coaster in North America. Plus, it boasts the world’s fastest inversion at 60 mph along with the tallest double inversion of any roller coaster out there today.

Those looking for some serious thrills in 2019 should start planning their trip to Six Flags Great America ASAP.

6. The Dragon Flier

Dollywood is adding another roller coaster to their park in the recently announced Wildwood Grove area. The Dragon Flier is a suspended family coaster with dragonfly styled cars. Though limited information is currently available, teasers state guests will dodge geysers and narrowly miss the ground based on the track design.

Dragon Flier will be the largest and fastest suspended coaster in its class when it opens in 2019.

7. Harry Potter Coaster

Among the new roller coasters 2019 will debut, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort may be the most highly anticipated. The ride has been shrouded in secrecy, with Universal releasing details very slowly. Here’s what we know so far about the ride, which is set to open June 13, 2019.

The ride is located near Hogwarts, where the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction lives. It features new technology, allowing riders to take a seat on Hagrid’s motorbike while they tour the wizarding world’s magical creatures. (Think Buckbeak the Hippogriff in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.) During the adventure, explore far beyond sights Hogwarts Castle and get up-close to Thestrals, Unicorns, Centaurs, and Grawp the giant.

Keep in mind, Universal remains very tight-lipped about this attraction so we won’t know all the details until it officially debuts!

8. Yukon Striker

Debuting in 2019, Yukon Striker at Canada’s Wonderland has many roller coaster enthusiasts buzzing. The new ride will be the fastest dive coaster reaching speeds of up to 80 mph (130 km/h), the longest dive coaster with 3,625 feet (1,105 metres) of track, and the tallest dive coaster at a towering 245 feet (745 metres) including an underground tunnel.

Your journey begins with a terrifying 90-degree drop down 245 feet into an underwater tunnel before zooming through four inversions along with a 360-degree loop.

9. Tidal Twister

SeaWorld San Diego is stepping up its game by joining the class of new roller coasters 2019 with Tidal Twister. This dueling ride is modeled after the power of the ocean and its waves with high-speed turns, upside-down twists, and more.

Tidal Twister, while boating impressive stats, will be an ideal roller coaster for younger riders and families with a height requirement of 48″. The ride reaches a maximum speed of 30 miles per hour with a figure-8 track including a Zero-G roll.

The two trains will hold 16 passengers each and load at opposite ends of the track before crossing in the middle.

10. Steel Curtain

Pittsburgh Steelers fans will be over the moon when they discover Steel Curtain at Kennywood in 2019. This record-breaking roller coaster is modeled after the NFL team, along with the area’s history.

The coaster boasts 9 inversions, making it the most in the Western Hemisphere! In addition, Steel Curtain has specs including:

  • Height: 220 feet – tallest roller coaster in PA
  • Speed: 76 mph
  • Inversions: 9 – most in North America
  • Tallest Inversion: 197 feet – tallest in the world
  • Lift Angle: 50 degrees
  • Length: 4,000 feet

You won’t be able to miss Steel Curtain when you enter the park, either. This towering coaster will be a welcome addition to the park’s skyline.
