Dollywood is one of the most popular theme parks in the Southeast. Centered on Smoky Mountain heritage, the park combines entertaining shows with talented craftspeople, delicious food and thrilling rides. Families with kids of all ages will find something to love at Dollywood. There are roller coasters like Wild Eagle ideal for big kids, and traditional fair rides for little ones at the Country Fair section of the park. In addition, there are award-winning festivals held throughout the season which create even more ways to play at the park. To find out more about the popular Pigeon Forge theme park, read on.

Wild Eagle RidersAttractions & Rides

One of the must-ride attractions at Dollywood is Wild Eagle – the first wing coaster in the country! Get on board and experience the simulated flight of an eagle for a free-as-a-bird attraction you’ll want to ride again and again. It’s honestly one of the best roller coasters of any theme park – anywhere! Other thrills at Dollywood include the spiral loops of the Tennessee Tornado coaster, belly flipping drops of Barnstormer and Thunderhead, a massive wooden coaster with a 100-foot drop. Over at Country Fair, one of my favorite sections of the park, old-fashioned fun and fair rides find a permanent home. Many of these rides are perfect for kiddos. Go for a spin on the Scrambler or Flying Elephants. Then, get twisted on Dizzy Disk before soaring to new heights on the Waltzing Swingers. For even more family fun, board FireChaser Express – the nations’ first dual-launch family coaster. Looking to cool off on a hot day? Dollywood water rides are always a favorite way to make a splash. Daredevil Falls barrels down the mountain of an old-logging camp, your boat careening over a waterfall down a 60-foot drop at a heart-racing 60 mph. Or, choose to engage in a River Battle, a water raft ride equipped with powerful soaker guns. Even more splishes and splashes can be found at Smoky Mountain River Rampage. The white water rafting adventure is full of exciting dips, twists and turns.

Adding to the thrills and spills of the park are entertaining shows. Festivals bring in new talent throughout the year, with everything from bluegrass to gospel to multicultural music and holiday spectaculars on display. Of course, year-round staples of the Dollywood entertainment scene are also big draws. Several of the shows have won awards too, such as Dreamland Drive-In. At the show, take a nostalgic trip down memory lane at Dreamland Drive-In. Chart-topping hits of the ’50s and ’60s are on the menu in Dollywood’s musical review. Heartsong, a multi-sensory film experience, takes visitors on a journey with Dolly Parton as she shares her favorite places and stories of the Smokies. Need a country music fix? The Great American Country Show is 40-minute show featuring six singers and a six-piece band showcasing country music favorites.
