from Yosemite National Park Day Tour
Yosemite is a magnificent wilderness only a few hours’ drive from San Francisco. A Yosemite Day Tour from San Francisco will complete your trip to Northern California.

Your day in Yosemite park includes a guided in-coach tour of Yosemite Valley with our informative and professional guides providing history and insight into one of the earth’s best examples of a glaciated valley.

The day begins with a hotel pick-up between 6:15 am and 7:00 am. Heading east across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge offers great views of the San Francisco skyline, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman's Wharf, and the Golden Gate Bridge. En Route to the park we cross through the Central Valley, where we will stop at a fruit stand for some local produce.

Famous for its rich volcanic soil, the Central Valley is the largest agricultural region in the United States. The section we drive through is best known for specialty fruits and nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cherries, and strawberries. After this quick rest stop, we enter the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

Continuing into the mountains brings us to California gold country and the gold rush town of Groveland before we wind our way into Yosemite National Park. Maps in hand, we begin with a one and a half hour in-coach narrated tour of Yosemite's glaciated valley. You will see famous waterfalls and rock formations including Yosemite Falls—the tallest waterfall in North America—El Capitan, Half Dome, Bridalveil Falls, Sentinel Dome, and much more. During the tour, you will see Yosemite Valley from a number of great vantage points, the best of which is perhaps Inspiration Point. At 4,500 feet above sea level, this viewpoint gives you a commanding view east up the valley. Yosemite is a mecca for rock climbers and the sight of people climbing El Capitan's 3,200 ft. (1000m) the sheer rock face is quite amazing.

Because of our small group size, we can incorporate multiple photos stops into our tour so you can better enjoy your time in the park. After the tour, we stop for the afternoon near the base of Yosemite Falls, where there are a variety of options for lunch (not included). After eating, you will have 3-4 hours of free time to explore the valley as you choose.

You can walk to the base of Yosemite Falls, check out the visitor center, visit the Ansel Adams Gallery, stop in at the Ahwahnee Hotel, rent a cruiser bike, or hike some of the trails that originate from the valley. Although you could spend three weeks in Yosemite, the three hours you get on your own is enough time to understand why Yosemite is one of America's most popular national parks. Regrouping again in the late afternoon, we head for San Francisco, stopping for a short break before arriving back in the city and dropping you at your lodging between 8:30 pm and 9:00 pm.

We came out and booked the Yosemite, Muir woods and Sonoma/nappa wine tours. Unfortunately due to the government shut down we weren't able to do the Muir woods tour however the other two tours were absolutely wonderful and there is no doubt in my mind that without Molly, our tour guide, we would not have had nearly as wonderful a time as we did. Molly was down to earth, knowledgeable and honest. I'd highly recommend anyone take these tours alone or in a group, the guides will make every effort to keep you part of a the group as a whole.

We went with Ashley to Yosemite and Molly to Napa Valley. Both were lovely, sweet young ladies in their 20s. They were patient, careful drivers and I felt safe with them, despite the large size of buses that they drove. In fact, in Singapore, most bus drivers are men. They did an admirable job getting us around safely! My family of 3 wish them well in their future endeavours.

We visited San Francisco over the Christmas period and planned to stay one night in Yosemite. Visiting Yosemite was definitely worth it. The scenery is amazing. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about Yosemite lodge or the tour. The lodge computer systems were down and the staff were most unhelpful, in fact rude. We had no joining instructions from Incredible Adventures and given no confirmation of our booking and the government had shut down we decided to travel back to SF that day. The van was full and cramped and the air conditioning did not work correctly neither did the audio system. The driver, Molly, was the also the guide. Good driving on tricky roads but little tour information which was disappointing given we spent 8 hours travelling in the van. Overall - worth visiting Yosemite but adjust your exceptions and don’t expect very much at all from Yosemite Lodge.

Took a quick day trip to Yosemite. It's a 15 hour day. Really wasn't going to because it's a 4.5 hour trip there. We got to spend 3.5 hours on our own hiking, but stopped as a group to look at El Capitan and the Half Dome and Yosemite valley. It's not a great way to see much of the Valley, but if you are in San Francisco without a car and you want to see Yosemite, it is well worth it. Mitch was our guide and he is awesome!

A long day but well well worth it. On time pickup. Clean bus. Small group and Nicole was fantastic with good commentary and bubbly personality. Plenty of time to look around in the valley.
