"The 300"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

Not as terrible as other reviews. I stayed in Building 300 on the third floor which was more like a studio apartment. Had a door and small hallway with laundry set-up before entering your room. A/C worked most of time, TV used DirecTV, absolutely no bugs, no foreign particles on the bedding, and the bathroom was immaculate. Overall, I had a pleasant stay. However, I never called guest services because I witnessed other guests waiting in vain to be picked up. It's easier to wait at a bus stop to catch the attention of the bellhops who were friendly and accommodating duuring my stay.

"One of the worst hotels I have stayed in "
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed February 15, 2019 NEW
I am a Florida resident and have been to Orlando 100+ times over the last 25 years. I have stayed at numerous hotels and resorts in Orlando over the years. Westgate Resort and Spa is by the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. My wife was attending a work related seminar over 2 weekends at the hotel convention center. I decided to accompany her with our children. During the first weekend, I was assigned one of their “good” rooms in the 700 building. We requested bedding for the sofa bed for my kids to sleep in. After placing 6 calls to the front desk over a 1 hour period, house keeping dumped 8 pillow cases in a clear plastic bag at our room. Yes, you read that correctly, “ 8 pillow cases “ not pillows, not blankets and not sheets. We went up to the front desks and asked them to change our room to have 2 queen bed. They downgraded our room without giving us a refund on the price difference and moved us into a smaller room. The second weekend was worse than the first. My wife spoke to the manager before checking in and discussed the issues we had the weekend before. The manager assured her that when we arrived he would provide a foam memory mattress topper for the sofa bed. We were again given a room in the 700 building. She requested house keeping to come put the requested foam mattress. She waited for 5 hours. The room phone was not working so she walked to the front desk 4 times. The front desk gave her a number to call from the cell phone which didn’t work. When house keeping finally arrived at 10:30 pm after 5 hours, they dumped 2 pillow cases and a sheet in a plastic bag in our room and left. The guy who came to fix the room phone fixed it but as soon as he left it broke again. We repeatedly reached out the front desk for the foam mattress topper that was promised but nothing and no one came. Finally we were exhausted and just went to sleep waiting for housekeeping to come and the phone to get fixed. I urged my wife to move to the Hyatt that was across the street to put this nightmare behind us. But her seminars was starting at 7 am and she was just too tired to move to a different hotel at this point. Needless to say, I am never going to stay at this hotel again. I would certainly not call it a “resort.” I have had better service at Red Roof Inn and Motel 8 than this “Resort”. It takes a lot for me to write such a harsh review but I felt I needed to warn others of they may encounter if they decided to stay At Westgate Resort and Spa

"Great Stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We had a great time at West Gate. It's like a little community all on it's own. It's so close to Disney that you can see Disney's fireworks from our hotel room. There is a game room, restaurant, private little island with hammocks. If you wanted a bit more of a serene stay without all the disney tourists, this would be a perfect spot. We didn't have any issues with parking but I could see that as an issue. There were several pools and more than enough space for everyone.

"Run - Stay anywhere else"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed February 14, 2019 NEW
I was attending a conference that had shuttle service from this hotel. This resort is old, dirty, with leaking vents and falling light fixtures. The safe was broken. There was no free wi-if or internet. The shuttles did not pick up at building - had to walk to main entrance and took forever to get to conference center. The price they charged for conference attendees was more than staying at much nicer places. Do yourself a favor and get a room at a nicer place and Uber to the conference center.

"Sad room and terrible sales staff"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed February 13, 2019 NEW
Sadly this experience was ruined by a bad room and shocking sales tactics. The staff at the Sports bar were amazing and most staff went above and beyond to ensure a great experience, but sadly there was no follow through with reception. We were in block 100 which looks about 50 years old inside, washing machine kept filling up when not on, so when you open the door water poured out! The safe didn’t work and the sink plug didn’t work... we reported all these issues twice and only the plug was fixed. Then at the end of our holiday we attended the presentation, expecting 90 mins, 2.5 hours later after being verbally attacked by the sales lady ‘number 2 in the company earning $130,000’ she then gave us a 5 year ban on any westgate resort and said she would make us wait there for as long as she wanted until she was ready to let us leave, her departing comment was ‘your in sales, do you believe in karma?’. It was NEVER explained to us that we had to have £10k-40k to spend on a timeshare when we were recommended by an owner to spend a week in the hotel for a reduced rate as long as we go for a 90 minute presentation. We spoke to the director who gave us a very good deal for 2 years which I would of accepted if they had told us that instead of biting our heads off, but unfortunately after the sales ladies attitude I would never buy a timeshare with Westgate as I would not feel comfortable making others go through that same experience. Now I’ve learned about timeshares I would very much like to buy one, but sadly will not be westgate. Very sad end to our holiday.
