Description

from Washington DC Unveiled
Ready to take on the busiest area in DC? Skip the crowded sidewalks and slide into our all-electric Red Roadsters to be guided around our nation’s capital by a local.

Our National Mall tour will start at the L’Enfant Plaza metro, where our guides will take you back to the city’s origins and give you some tips for exploring the city on your own. You’ll work your way through the Smithsonian area, discussing the best exhibits in each. Make sure you bring a notebook because you’ll want to take notes for later!

Next, breeze past the Washington Monument, Holocaust Museum, and Bureau of Engraving and Printing on your way to our beautiful Tidal Basin, where you’ll be entertained with the stories behind the watery oasis and the Jefferson Memorial.

You’ll also have the opportunity to hop out and explore on your own! We’ll do that at two stops: the FDR and MLK memorials, as well as at the Lincoln memorial. At both locations you’ll head out on foot with tips and insider information from our guide, and you’ll be able to spend some time inside these amazing memorials. Afterwards, you’ll cruise along the scenic Potomac River with views of Arlington Cemetery before seeing the World War I and World War II memorials.

Continue your journey through American history with a drive past the White House. Finally, feast your eyes on the buildings of Capitol Hill and learn the history behind the Capitol Building, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. End your tour on a high note by asking your guide for an amazing spot for lunch before exploring the rest of DC on your own.

Visiting DC during a government shutdown in the winter means time for a tour! I took my niece (age 18) with me for a 2 hour tour with Julia. We had our cart to ourselves. Nice! I already knew about the blankets provided (red with white trim...super cute AND warm!), but I didn't know that the cart had windows and was totally enclosed. (During the summer, the windows each have an individual hand crank—the old fashioned kind—making it easy to control airflow or to get the window down for that perfect shot. I actually lived in DC for 20 years, so I didn't expect a lot from the tour and was pleasantly surprised. Additionally, I kind of thought we were driving the whole time. Wrong. We were able to jump out of the cart for a quick photo opp in front of the Capitol. And had lengthy time to explore the MLK monument, and also the Lincoln/Vietnam War/Korean War trio of memorials. Julia gave us plenty of tidbits on monument designs and the meaning behind them. We even got a quick photo by the White House. And were conveniently dropped off at the Botanical Gardens (still open during the shutdown and a great spot to warm up quickly). We had a lot of fun quizzing Julia to see how much she knew. (A. Lot.) And when she let slip she was really good with all the horses (knowing the names of those enshrined in statue form)...we had even more fun hearing all the names (and googled the only one she couldn't immediately recall). This really was a great way to see and visit and learn about a number of key sights downtown.

My husband and I were in Washington for 2 very wet days in December. We had previously booked the tour and due to the weather I had my doubts about going on it. But I was proven wrong. 6 of us were on the tour including Chris our guide who was fantastic!!. From the get go he created an ambience that made us feel like a bunch of friends sharing the DC experience! We got some great information on the museums and monuments, tips on best social areas and where to eat. My husband and I have no hesitation recommending Chris and the tour for a fun and informative way to see highlights of DC,

Had a fantastic tour in our red Ferrari golf cart with Sasha. Her knowledge of places and events was amazing and her ability to be able to relate it to young kids was first class. Totally recommend when in Washington.

What a great expeirence! Sasha was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about history! The only complaint is the two hours went by too fast. I strongly recommend people visiting DC to ride with Sasha as she will tell you the spots to see. And if her mom really reads these, you have a great and very smart daughter! See you next year.
