"The Gotham Hotel was Great!"

We really liked our recent 5-night stay at this hotel. The Hotel staff, from Reception to Doormen to Housekeeping were all excellent. Tina, at the front desk, was a real standout and went our of her way to help us enjoy our visit. Our room was large (by NY standards) and fairly priced. Breakfast is not included. The hotel's location was perfect for us. It is away from the tourist crowds and noise of Times Square but not a difficult walk to quickly go there. It is within steps of the shopping on 5th Avenue. Grand Central Station is a 10-minute walk where you can find great food and convenient connections to the subway. We would definitely go back to The Gotham on our next visit.

PSA!!! IF ANYONE IS THINKING ABOUT VISITING NYC NEVER STAY AT THE GOTHAM HOTEL!!! Last week on Monday, March 4, 2019, my friend and i stayed at the Gotham hotel for a week. We checked reviews and pictures online beforehand and nothing gave us a bad feeling about booking our stay with them. We arrive at the hotel to check in early and they tell us our room won’t be ready until 3pm (standard procedure not the issue). After we return to the hotel we get ready to sleep and pull the comforters back to find urine and blood stains everywhere on the blanket!!! We took our complaints to the assistant manager (the general manager avoided us during our entire visit) and they moved us into a higher room the next day but we were still forced to sleep in the same room until they could get the second room ready. We told the staff we appreciate being moved but even that room wasn’t clean. Well we finally come into contact with the general manager this morning ,March 14th, almost a full week later and she basically goes on record to call us a liar and insisted on not compensating us for the horrible and gruesome experience on the first night. The view is also not what they promote online!

This is a wonderful place I'm so happy me and my husband chose to stay here. Check in process was very fast and friendly. The front desk lady Cynthia that attended us was very helpful, and very sweet. It was my first time in the city and everything was perfect. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beautiful design. Everything was close by, and very convenient. I will be back to stay here again.

I travel for work frequently and have stayed at various hotel properties in NYC, but nothing like the Gotham Hotel. Tina and James are amazing and very accommodating. The location is perfectly located within walking distance to some many attractions. The Gotham hotel is the first place I check for awavilablity when coming to NYC.

I was staying in this hotel on a business trio. The rooms are huge for NY city, modern and clean. I loved everything apart from a couple of minor things. Considering this was a work trip, I was shocked at the 1000 dollar deposit asked for, the room was paid upfront. Second, the restaurant situated in the hotel is awful with a limited menu ( its NY though so there's plenty on offer outside) third, my hotel room only seemed to have hot water at night time and not in the morning , slightly inconvenient. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and had loads of tips on where I could find alternatives to eat, especially as I was working bizarre hours, they were very knowledgable and sweet. It NY city hopefully your not spending too much time in your room, if you visit this hotel as a tourist, make sure you get a room at the front and not the back of the hotel, as the views are great.
