"The Florida Aquarium Rocks!"
June, 2016
Buying tickets through Reserve Orlando was quick and easy. The Florida Aquarium has so much to offer for young and not so young. All kinds of sea life, including otters, many types of fish, jellyfish, etc. The Wetlands area included many local birds in a natural habitat. Madagascar lemurs in a tree house setting gave us a bird's eye view. The divers gave an interesting presentation in the big tank, sharks, sea turtles and all. Everyone was mesmerized by the presentation. An outdoor splash area gave little ones a great cooling off spot, while parents could relax in the shade and enjoy the breeze. We are senior citizens, but felt like two kids as we enjoyed this well thought out aquarium.

The aquarium was good. Enjoyed the exhibits. The inside was wheelchair accessible except for the top floor was a little tricky and tight. However, the dolphin cruise is not wheelchair accessible. That was very disappointing.

We went during March break and used our Tampa city pass to check it out. Someone had told us manatees would be here, they were not..the kids liked seeing a gator being fed and the otters though.

"Good not great"

We checked it out after hearing good things about it. Getting tot he Aquarium is a pain, as it's located right next to all the cruise ships leaving Tampa. Very compact space, but they did fit quite a bit into it. No Dolphins/Manatees or other things you may expect to see in a 'Florida' aquarium. Price point seemed high for what they did have. We did not go out to the splash pad however.

With a well designed layout and great viewing of the fish, sharks, rays, seahorses, etc., the Florida Aquarium was a fun and interesting. We topped it off with the boat ride to visit with the dolphins, who seemed happy to see us.

"Decent way to spend a few hours"

I wouldn't travel far with this as my destination, but if you are in town and looking to kill a few hours, this is a good way to do it. Some of the aquariums are impressive and the bird area is a nice way to switch it up. It isn't the greatest aquarium out there, but it isn't terrible. They do participate with Zoo programs and we were abel to get a discounted admission based on our Brevard Zoo membership, although the weren't happy about it and tried to only give the discount to the named person on the membership (The Zoo membership card names one person and simply states how many kids and adults the card is good for). Overall, worth a stop if you're in the area but not worth a special trip.
