Description

from The Book of Mormon
Winner of 9 Tony Awards® including 2011 Best Musical.

From Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, and Bobby Lopez, co-creator of Avenue Q, comes a Broadway musical that Ben Brantley of The New York Times calls "the best musical of this century.

This outrageous musical comedy follows the misadventures of a mismatched pair of missionaries, sent halfway across the world to spread the Good Word. One serious and dedicated and the other socially awkward yet well meaning, these Mormons are sent to Uganda to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. When they arrive in Africa, the missionaries find a community grappling with poverty, AIDS and violence.

Entertainment Weekly says The Book of Mormon is "the funniest musical of all time," and Jon Stewart of The Daily Show declares it's "a crowning achievement, so good it makes me angry."

This show is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. Parental advisory: Contains explicit language. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.

"Fantastic Play"

I wasn't sure what to expect from this play, it was both educational and quite funny. I sat close enough to the stage to notice the main actor constantly sweating during the play. This was a very comical play with a consistent message, I never understood the life of a mormon but much like the show "South Park", they truly created something everyone can laugh at. The cast was great, extremely talented and fit their roles perfectly. I can't imagine anybody out there that would not find this play funny, of course there is no middle ground in terms sarcasm which helps make it even better. Competitive spirits amongst fellow mormons combined with the exhaustive stereotypes and a solid, yet consistent, message related to helping those who have been seeking for a long time to be helped makes this an awesome storyline. I always enjoy visiting this theatre. Cheers!

Totally irreverent, but totally funny!!! Highly entertaining play with talented actors. I would recommend to anyone who isn't "too Politically Correct". Seating is tight though if you are over 5'10"

This play is very over rated. It's attempts at humor were either dumb or inappropriate - about topics like HIV victims raping babies. Lots of better options for a great Broadway show.

There are lots of negative reviews of this musical, and I can see that lots of people wouldn't enjoy it, some being my family members. For me it was hilarious, and poked fun at everyone equally, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're easily offended or of a religious sensibility then just don't see it. The only down side was that the ticket prices were pretty steep.

It’s the funny side of being religious but not sacrilegious. I thought it would be unkind. But I did not think it that way. It was humorous from the start. I t does not matter where you sit, the place will be good.
