Description

from Stars & Stripes
This tour is moving in more ways than one. Explore and honor three historic sites that shaped the outcome of World War II in this, our Stars & Stripes tour. From the moment you board the tour bus, you’ll hear interesting facts about WWII and its devastating effects.

You’ll visit the USS Arizona Memorial where the United States was catapulted into WWII and its fight in the Pacific began. Also, explore the shoreline exhibits at the Visitor Center.

Please note, the USS Arizona Memorial is closed indefinitely due to structural damage.

Next, enjoy a tour of the Battleship Missouri. Knowledgeable guides provide colorful stories about the ship’s history and life at sea during a 35-minute guided tour. Stand where General Douglas MacArthur stood when he accepted the Instrument of Surrender that would end WWII; discover the thrilling details of the kamikaze attack on the Battleship Missouri; stand in the shadows of the 16-inch guns that pummeled Inchon, Korea; and see where 28 Tomahawk missiles were launched during the Gulf War.

Later, honor the freedoms bestowed upon us by all those who bravely served our country since WWI at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. You’ll be moved not only by the sweeping views of downtown Honolulu but also by the narrated drive through the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Before heading back into Waikiki, you’ll drive through historic Honolulu to see Hawaii State Capitol and Honolulu City Hall, Iolani Palace and King Kamehameha Statue, and Kawaiahao Church.

*DELUXE = Includes lunch

Today me and my sisters took the full 1 day tour of Oahu with Roberts Hawaii company and was really impressed with Fred’s commentary! He’s a wealth of knowledge and was very informative on the history of Hawaii in which we thoroughly enjoyed!! What I didn’t enjoy was the constant chatter from two teenagers & some adults who weren’t interested in the history and really shouldn’t have been on the tour! It made listening very hard!! Also parents, if you have small children, this tour is not for you! It’s not fair to the rest of us when your child cry’s and cry’s and cry’s!! Also, the last post was right, if you don’t sit on the passengers side you won’t get to see or take photos of the view, unless you stop!

First off let me say the ONLY thing that was good was the drivers (Fred) knowledge. Fred was a wealth of information and a great historian. He should find a better service to really exploit his skills. Pros; driver knowledge Lunch was good and fairly priced. Cons; 2 stops removed and only informed on the bus 3 or 4 steps only.no stopping at Waimea bay, sunset, pipeline etc. If you aren’t on the right (passenger) side of the bus you will see NOTHING of the coast Dole plantation is WAY WAY overpriced, even for tourist spot. Rude, ignorant passengers that are noisy so no one else can hear. Sure, not the companies fault they are rude but it is the companies fault the bus was full. Honestly, to give you an idea of how bad this was, I love photographing beaches and landscapes. On this whole day trip I have taken 6 photos of 2 locations. I kid you not. Feel free to contact me as this is without a doubt the worst tour and a total waste of time and money.

I went on their Oahu All Day Trip worth $98pp USD Since it was a rainy day.. They disclosed on the same morning that 2 lookouts are taken out from stop overs without compensating for the extra time instead We spent most of the day riding on the bus listening to monotone driver about the history of hawaii. I give the driver credit for non stop talking about hawaii but i felt like he just got the job done. Went to sleep the entire ride. Rushing us to the stop overs for 10-15 mins and spent most of the time going for toilet trips. We still got back on the alloted time of 4:30pm but i could have done more if i hired a car on my own. So avoid at all cost if you can drive. There's better ways to explore oahu. 1 star for a safe trip.
