For the adventurous, snorkel up close and personal with sea life in a natural Florida reef environment. Hand feed fish, rays or both while snorkeling! We supply the wetsuits, masks, snorkels, vests and shoes. All you need is bathing suit, towel and dry clothes. Clear vision rafts are also available by request as part of your snorkel package.

The second phase will consist of ecosystem-specific habitats housed in a new building including: a recreated dock piling, rock jetty and shoreline to name a few. In addition, the permanent gift shop and restrooms will be located in this building. This will allow the temporary units to be removed to make room for the next phase. Expanded parking is also included. This is currently in the design & permitting phase. More details of Phase 2 announced soon!

In the third phase, you can experience an 18th century shipwreck reef, surrounded by sharks, while submerged in a real shark cage. Also enjoy behind the scenes tours, delicious food in our café and souvenirs and collectibles in our gift shop.

Behind the scenes tours, birthday parties, events, educational field trips and summer camps are available as well. This along with a gift and snack shop.

"Great little aquarium"
June, 2018
They have done a great job brining something like this to the area. There is lots of room to grow and the employees have lots of personal investment in the growth and care of this aquarium.

"Snorkel Adventure worth a trip for snorkeling newbies"

My daughter and I went today at 3pm having booked the 4pm snorkel adventure. 30-45 minutes is enough time to see everything including the shark feeding. Although small, it has a sincere charm about it, with helpful staff eager to share their knowledge and pass on a love for marine life. You can tell it is a labor of love with huge heart, and some wonderful potential but know there are no bells and whistles and it IS fairly small. As for the snorkeling adventure, it was pretty cool. Neither my daughter nor I have ever snorkeled, but we wanted to practice before our upcoming Spring Break trip where we'd be snorkeling in the ocean. We wore our swim suits into the aquarium and brought a backpack with towels and a dry change of clothes. They provide lockers and locks at no charge as well as all equipment needed such as the wet suits. For us newbies, seeing large bunches of fish completely surrounding us and being that close to the sting rays was awesome. It's about 30 minutes in the tank and 15 minutes on each end to get dressed and undressed. We paid $5 to feed the fish and that was great and felt worth the money. You could also pay $5 to feed a couple pieces of fish to the sting ray during the last 5 minutes which was cool but we weren't upset we didn't do it. We got a deal and paid $20/person and that felt like a good price I'm not sure we'd feel the same way about $40/person...but definitely a great trip for us!

"Don’t expect a big city aquarium, but it’s worth the stop"

Go in with low expectations. It has the ambience of a back yard carnival. But it has a lot of heart. The employees are all friendly and knowledgeable. Exhibits are outdoors, but there's plenty of shade. Sharks, rays, seahorses, a touch tank, and misc fish in a large tank. We spent about an hour and a half there. It’s away from town, not too far off the interstate. We had a late flight, so stopped by on the way to the airport. An enjoyable visit.

Terrible management and terrible workers. Half of them don't have any experience in what they are doing and the other half are too cocky to talk to you. “St. Augustine Aquarium” is a misstatement. There is no aquarium about this place. It’s a giant tank with a shark, stingray, and a fish. You will see more in the actual wild. Go down to the beach and take a stroll and you’ll see more wildlife than what you will here. It took us 10 minutes to finish EVERYTHING. Super boring and misleading. Not worth the money. Total joke.

The staff there was great. We went on a gloomy cool day. It’s all outside. It’s not sea world let’s just say that. The staff was very informative, and helpful. Our young children enjoyed it. It’s only about 30 mins and you have seen everything. But for $30 bucks for 4 people. I think we got a decent deal.

Hubby and I took our 3 yo grandson because he very fascinated with aquariums and sea animals. The photos SAA has on their website and what you actually see when you get there is deceiving. The website does not say it is an outdoor venue and consists of 2 large above ground pools and 1 med sz and 1 sm sz aquariums. It was laughable! We were there all of twenty minutes. I started to read the reviews from recent to the oldest (dated 2016). Back in 2016 the reviewers were mentioning about SAA having a soft opening of Phase 1 and that it is in an expansion mode. What SAA had back in 2016 are exactly the same 2 pools and 2 med sz aquariums. Here it is 2019 and nothing has changed except the adult admission fee!!! They're still telling the patrons today the same sad story they told back in 2016. We feel we've been had!!!
