Tip: It is difficult to see out of the west side of the building because the lines for the glass walkout windows were so long. Would suggest that they put glass walkout windows on every side to lessen the lines and make it available to more people as the lines are so long it isn't worth it to wait.

The views from the top are amazing. What's not so amazing is the queues and waiting times to get there! In fairness it was a Saturday afternoon so probably not the best time to go? I have no idea when the best time to go is? We got general admission tickets as the fast pass was about three times the price and still took a time to get through. It is worth it once at the top, but then you have more queues to wait and go out in 1 of the 4 Sky Decks which you are restricted to 60 seconds for photos. Of course a good day is preferable, but be aware there is no refund if you can't see due to bad weather.

"Long wait sucks"

This place would be better to raise general admission by $10 or $15 and scrap the ‘fast pass’ misery for everyone. It’s unreal. We arrived before it even opened and they said it was a 3hr wait??? The first hour they only let fast pass in! It’s a great view but stop ripping people off or making them feel inferior that a family of four can’t afford the fast pass. Share Chicago with everyone not just the impatient or rich.

"Great views but not worth the money"

We visited the Willis Tower on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered tickets beforehand on Ticketsatwork.com. The tickets that I purchased were only standard tickets. Today the wait for standard tickets was over 3 hours so we decided to upgrade to Fast Pass which cost $50 per ticket. The sign said that our wait would be 45 minutes, but we were up in about 5 or 10 minutes. I am guessing that if we wouldn't have upgraded to fast pass, we would've only waited 30 minutes to an hour maximum. When we got up to the 103rd floor, the views were great and I could see all of Chicago and most of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana as well since it was a clear day. There however aren't too many places to view. There are multiple binoculars that you can get a closer view from, but most of them had quarters jammed in them. The lines for the ledge were long but since we had fast pass we were first in line. The ledge is cool but I wouldn't say it is worth doing. The elevator ride down was quick but to leave you have to walk through two gift shops which may not be easy to go through if you have kids. Also when we first got to the Willis Tower, the elevator was broken so people with wheelchairs or strollers or people with escalaphobia like me have to go around with a tour guide to a working elevator which takes you to exactly where you need to go. All in all, I personally think that you should visit the Willis Tower but skip the ledge and not upgrade to fast pass.

We went at opening time on a Saturday and lines were very reasonable. The later it got the more they started to back up. I can only imagine what the wait time might be at mid day or later. Nonetheless at the top is a unique experience and very interesting views. Plenty of photo ops too.
