from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
With so many choices, where do you begin? Right here. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a 135-acre animal theme park located in Vallejo, California. The park includes a plethora of pulse-pounding roller coasters, to gentler options for tots.

At the heart of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is its diverse animal program, where guests, young and old, can enjoy strolling through the LAND area of the park to see beautiful cats, such as African lions, Bengal and Siberian tigers and cougars relaxing in their tranquil outdoor habitats.

In SEA, various marine mammals, such as bottlenose dolphins, Pacific walruses, California sea lions, Pacific harbor seals and our aquatic bird species, endangered African penguins, can be found. Walk through the serene Butterfly Habitat or gaze at the often misunderstood sharks in the Shark Experience

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom offers unique opportunities to meet animals truly up-close and personal. From your first step into the park, you might see exotic parrots and macaws; at the main plaza, or see dolphins swimming via an underwater viewing window at Dolphin Harbor.

For those that wish to engage with animals directly, there are ample opportunities to meet, see, touch and feed a variety of animal species. Each operating day, there are limited spaces available where you can feed a seal or sea lion at Seal Cove or feed a giraffe at the Giraffe Encounter (additional fee required).

Throughout the day, you won’t want to miss any of our entertaining and informational animal presentations. See marine mammal specialists take our two-ton walruses through a series of unbelievable behaviors, and the Odin’s Temple of the Tiger demonstration show is a one-of-a-kind experience that proves that cats really do like to swim.

For fans of our feathered friends, our animal care specialists show that macaws and cockatoos have distinct personalities at Discovery Theater and there’s no doubt that every animal, big or small, has a place in the ecosystem. Not to miss is the Aquaped Waterworks Sea Lion Show and the energetic Drench! dolphin show at Toyota Stadium. During special times like Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park, we re-theme these for the occasion!

"Winter visit"

Many thrill rides were closed. Most animal exhibits were empty. Medusa broke down twice. Most snack stands were closed. Long lines at the few that were open. Kinda depressing.

Tip: Don't do the $5 locker rental at individual rides. It's only good for twp hours, but they don't tell you this until after you pay for it. Ripoff...

"Very Good Experience!"
November, 2018
We purchased the tickets a few days before going to the park and the day at the park for a late arrival. The air quality was down and the park closed but we were able to get a complimentary pass for another day. So Reserve San Francisco worked for us very smoothly and we enjoyed a few hours of the park without any lines.

Tip: Its good to plan alittle more than we do. There is a lot to see at the park and a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes and arrive early.

My husband and I recently visited the park. We purchased the flash passes and i will tell you...well worth it! We had practically no wait time! It let us enjoy the park without being miserable in the long lines and heat! Food wasnt bad and the rides and aquariums were amazing. Kid friendly but also adult friendly. We want to return soon!

"Reservesanfrancisco was tops!"
September, 2018
We found the price on reservesanfrancisco to be the cheapest. One minor hiccup was that I had to call to make sure tickets were verified since I didn't get the email right away. But upon arrival at 6 Flags, I just showed my phone/ bar code at the GATE (not will call), and we were buzzed right through!

6 flags had VERY age appropriate things for our 5 and 2 year old. They loved it!

Worst part is parking, which is about half a mile away. No joke. You can take a very crowded shuttle? Or walk with a crowd down a narrow path.

"NO FOOD????????"
September, 2018
Me and my friends were going to six flags and just as we were walking in they told us that we needed to through out a big thing of kettle corn. We asked if they could hold on to it but they said no. Then they said that we could put in the locker but the locker was 12 dollars. You could see a big barrel of food in the back that customers tyres to bring in. It waisted so much time that we could have spent having fun. While we were waiting they threw out baby food and medications. WORST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!

"Cheaper than the park itself."
September, 2018
Booking tickets online here was alot cheaper than buying at the park and even online. Minus 1 star because tickets are not emailed right away. Take 30 min to 2 hours. Kind of a hassle sometimes if you buy right before you go to the park. Other wise I'll use this site again.

"Till next time"
August, 2018
I had so much fun and loved the dolphin show it was definitely what made my trip worth it. Staff was polite and very attentive to everyone. There are long lines for the games. My favorite was medusa... I think food is way to expensive and they dont make it adorable for all families to come enjoy the attractions.

"MLK weekend was great"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed January 21, 2019 NEW
We met up with some friends on the Saturday of MLK weekend. The weather was nicer than we anticipated and actually could have worn shorts. There weee no lines for rides. We got many rides multiple times, some (like Superman) where you didn’t have to get off because there was no line and the employees offered to let us stay on. Only downfall was the drink and food employees all seemed as though they hated their job. Very unfriendly and slow. Shows were limited and animal viewings were almost not available. It was an overall great day and I recommend going off season in January.

Drove there from the Central Valley and arrived at about 1130. Attendant at the parking area stated she wanted to inform us the park was closing at 1:00 (1 1/2 hours) later do to the wild fire smoke. Granted there were fire up above Sacramento but the smoke really wasn’t bad. We drove all the way over there for nothing. Park has lots of ride closures or break downs. After leaving the line due to a break down you head to another ride only to be told that ride just broke down, Ridiculous!!! Very unprofessional staff who act like they are being tortured for working there. I could go on and on about the various areas of the park and their lack of knowledge, supervision and inadequacies!

"A great day!"

We bought discount tickets online and stayed at the Marriot across the street. This saves you on the expensive parking fee. Lots of fun animal shows and super friendly staff. I have a 6 and 3 year old and both were busy all day until closing. A few attractions closed(maybe because winter?) We ended upgrading tickets to a season pass - great deal! Good food choices and security didn’t seem to notice the few snacks we had. Bring refillable water bottles - they have water stations by the restrooms. Loved the Dolphin shows! Use the app to get easy directions.

Good amusement rides. I do not think amusement rides and animals are a good mix. The noise and vibration is not good for the animals and sea creatures. The dolphins seemed bored and depressed, Ray's had bloody wings, shark had banged up bloody nose. Animals need to be moved to a large beautiful stimulating environment to live out the rest of their lives in peace. People could observe them at sanctuaries.

Worst six flags park ever! Place cannot handle big crowds. Lines for food were way too long everywhere in the park eith a wait time of 25 min at least not to mention the price !!! Park is not built wisely and we found it hard to find our way around it. If you don’t buy the platinum flash pass you will end up going on one ride only. Employees in the park were not familiar with names of rides and their location. Bottom line: Stay away!!!
