"Good Not Great"

First of all, the people who work here are phenomenal. Simply top-notch service and friendliness from the front desk to the lounge. Also, the elevators arrive quickly. Now for the constructive: *Rooms are dated, and beds are uncomfortable. *"City view rooms" are so loud due to the traffic, that it is nearly impossible to sleep. Just terrible. *Lounge offerings are not up to par with other Marriott properties.

"Good but not the standard of other Sheraton’s"

Checked in late one evening and and from the start the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room seemed a little tired, two large queen beds made the room slightly crowded, if there was only one bed the room would have felt far more spacious as they were relatively big rooms. The hotel is close to downtown, about 6-7 minutes in an Uber, very close to old San Diego where there are some great Mexican restaurants and only 20 minutes to the Zoo and Bay Area. If you are unfamiliar with the City but intend on getting a car to drive around, this is a good location as the hotel connects to some main highways that make it a very easy journey to Mission Beach, La Jolla, etc. I would recommend this hotel but can understand where some questions its condition.

"Terrible Stay - Lack of Communication from Staff"
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

Booked a one night stay and ended up checking out same day due to the uncomfortable conditions of the room. The A/C wasn't working and the room was incredibly stuffy. I'm not sure why but the staff member who checked me in failed to communicate that the A/C was not working and would not be fixed any time soon. Why would you not advise a guest that their room will be warm due to the A/C cooler not working? I had to call the front desk to ask what the issue was. They did send a maintenance staff member but all he was able to do was slide open the window a bit more than it was which did nothing to cool the room. I ended up checking out same day and I had told the staff member who checked me out that I would not be paying for the overpriced overnight parking fee of $27. She confirmed she had removed it yet this charge has posted to my bank account. I should have known to ask for a receipt upon leaving. I will never consider staying at this hotel again or recommend to anyone I know.

Check/in, lobby area was pleasant. Close parking is very limited and not secure. Good breakfast buffet included in our business rate. Large king room. Requested my Marriott Gold Elite room upgrade and this is all they had. Bed is comfortable and room is clean but oh my it's dated. Carpet at sink area with no storage/shelving. No dresser! Here for 12 days and only 2 tiny drawers under tv. Had to call for my hangars as now I have to hang everything. Bathroom is tiny. Toilet smashed up against a wall and can only sit if door is closed because TP is wedged up behind the door! Literally no towel racks except for one in the shower. None by sink. Like ZERO. We usually are always at Marriott properties and there is a huge difference. I'd stay at the Courtyard down the street before I'd stay here again. Favorite hotel in Mission Valley is the Marriott.

First time staying here! Very Warmly greeted! Felt like an old friend being welcomed back after a long trip :-)!! Great customer service! Room on club level was nice with a view of the hillside. The restaurant on site has a very good breakfast and coffee selection.... Fresh fruits, veggies, eggs etc all available! A small but functional exercise room with hand weights as well as bands... 3 treadmills and 3 elliptical trainers. All around a great value and good location!
