"Sea world fun"
March, 2019 NEW
My family and I traveled to California specifically to take our girls 10&6 to SeaWorld! We were there Thursday February 28th, 2019. We felt lucky to have warm weather mid-upper 60’s. Each exhibit really shared educational facts about each animal. My girls felt they not only saw the animals but learned a lot. The shows with the animals were spectacular, my girls had huge smiles on their faces. The seal show had ton of talent. The dolohins were full of energy and surprises and the orca show was very educational. We also enjoyed some hands on exhibits where you can touch some sea life. So before I left, I had clients telling me they felt bad for the animals at SeaWorld trapped out of the wild. But we learned they nurture most and send them back into their natural habitat once healthy. The ones that can’t survive they keep. They do a lot of rescue there. It not all about the shows. They’ve also added an amusement park that we were able to enjoy like free. The electric eel was the most wild roller coaster I’ve ever been on, my oldest and I enjoyed it. All in all it met our expectations!

Been to San Diego zoo the day before this. Sea World is a very different experience. We got opportunities to touch the animals (such as sharks, dolphins, etc.). We love the dolphin encounter. It's our first time to touch a dolphin. The shows are also fantastic, do not miss the orca encounter (this one is included in the main ticket)! Personally speaking, Emperor Penguins are my favorite. They are just amazing. If you like these creatures, I highly recommend you to check out the documentary by BBC called "Dynasties". There is one particular episode talking about Emperors. One little thing about Sea World is the price. 1 photo frame cost us $20. We bought 5 for our dolphin encounter photos. And guess what, the dolphin encounter itself cost us $80 per guest (it's not included in your main ticket, and you need reservation for this one). If the price were lower, we would do the penguins encounter as well. Maybe next time...

After being extremely frustrated with lines and crowds at the Disney parks and Universal, it sure was nice to visit Seaworld. The crowds were very manageable and we were actually able to walk through the park, where mobs of people greatly impeded us at the other parks. The coasters were great, especially the Electric Eel! The Arctic Expedition ride was unanimously voted "lame". Prices, overall, were much more reasonable than the other parks (SeaWorld backpack on clearance -$12.50, seaworld beach towel or blanket -$20), though $6 for 4 small pieces of squid to feed the bat rays was a bit ridiculous. Those souvenir prices, compared to $28 mouse ears, were very agreeable. I did feel that the quality of the shows has slipped a bit. The seal and otter show (Clyde and Seymour) has always been my favorite, but this production was very lacking, with several mistakes/miscues. The orca show was probably just as good as ever, but one show was just an 'animal rescue' video; I can watch those at home on Animal Planet, no need to waste valuable park time doing that. The water ride (rafting) was scheduled to be open, but was closed and it looked to have been that way for quite some time. :-( As a bonus, parking was free!

"Enjoyable sunny day at Seaworld San Diego"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5
Reviewed March 23, 2019 NEW
Overall I enjoyed my day at Seaworld San Diego, but there are pros and cons that I will share so that you are aware of what to expect when you arrive. Thankfully it was gorgeous weather and sunny all day which was conducive to enjoying this park. Since most of the shows and rides are outdoors you would really put a damper on your day if you chose to go here on a rainy day, so choose when to go based on proper weather so that you don’t ruin your day. Be aware that regardless of what price you pay for your ticket, you’re going to pay $22 for general parking and more if you want to park closer to the entrance. Parking is not included in the ticket price. I parked in the general parking and it did not feel like it was far away from the entrance for me. I would not recommend paying more to park closer unless you absolutely had serious physical limitations or medical conditions that did not allow you to walk a little further. The lines at the turnstile to check your ticket on the way in we’re very slow in spite of them having many people working there at the time. I suggest that Seaworld finds a faster way to admit people so that they are not wasting a lot of time just trying to get into the park due to how slow those lines move just trying to get in. I suggest getting a map of the park once you enter so that you can orient yourself and not get lost and to save time trying to find things. I kept my map with me all day and it was very helpful. I really enjoyed all the animal shows throughout the day. I tried to catch every show I could and was going from one place to another since the shows are scheduled in such a way that you would need to go from one venue to another back to back if you want to catch each show. The animal shows were entertaining and informative and I enjoyed seeing how intelligent these animals are. If you plan to see any of the shows, don’t be a late straggler coming in last minute or else you most likely will end up having to stand for the entire show or being turned away if they are at max capacity. I happened to be there on a Friday and almost every show I was at was at max capacity and people were starting to fill it in about 30 minutes before each show, which is why I went from one venue to another immediately after each show, because I knew that the seats would fill up fast, so I can’t imagine what it must be like on a weekend when there are more people there. Get there as early as you can if you want to have good seating or else expect to find standing room only or be turned away due to max capacity being filled. I was disappointed that there were a few venues that were closed due to construction currently going on, so be aware that not everything is open at this time. It seemed like a couple stores and restaurants were also closed for some unknown reason. I’ve visited Sea World San Diego alone and was there all day and still did not have time to ride any of the rides, because it literally took all day just watching the shows and visiting the animal exhibits. I was there to see the animals anyway, and not to ride any of the rides, nevertheless because the parks hours are so short it was not possible to do both in one day. It would be nice if Sea World actually had much longer hours like the Magic Kingdom in Orlando Florida which would give you plenty of time to do more. So I suggest that you plan your days accordingly, because if you are visiting here for only one day you will most likely not be able to do everything. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here and would recommend to anybody who likes viewing sea life and animals to come and spend the day here. Just be aware of the added costs, limited hours and closed venues so that you are prepared when you arrive.

Living in Texas, we went to Sea World in SA several times and enjoyed ourselves, so we were excited to try Sea World San Diego. Arrival and entry went pretty smoothly. I know it is early season, but it stunk that a large portion of the park wasn't open from 10:00-10:40. Only 2 real rides, both of which were okay, at least we didn't wait too long for the Manta or the Electric Eel. Sea Lion and Dolphin shows we're both good. I appreciate that they have pre-show entertainment at the Sea Lion show to keep everyone who showed up early entertained--nothing similar at the Dolphin Show. Food lines at Shipwreck Reef Cafe were the longest wait of anything we did all day. 35 minutes to get through the food line. All in all an average day. The park seems kind of small, and while many of the exhibits and "team members" were friendly and engaging, the park felt small and worn. Also, I know it is early in the season, but the lack of efficiency running the attractions was noticeable. It just didn't seem like the different personnel understood or cared to misbehave things àlong. Still, a good visit. Everyone had fun.

Nicely developed theme park. You won't know how the day passed. Be prepared to walk 15000 steps, have good walking shoes on. Download map prior hand to know the park well with various show timings. You are in to see whales, Dolphins, Sea lions, giant turtles, penguins & much more. I was amazed by Whales show, penguins dancing, Sea Lions walking. Funny show before the beginning of sea lions show was too good. Tour is really enjoyable for all age groups. A lifetime must experience.
