I like to book hop off hop on tours in cities where I don't rent a car and don't want to rely on public transportation to get me to my destinations. I went with my sister and our 13 year old nephew. And we really enjoyed ourselves. We even did the add on for Sausilito and while there found a shop that sold Tin Tin books. That was nostalgic for my sister and I. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the tour takes you through the Tenderloin neighborhood while explaining its poverty. It is clearly a rough neighborhood, one I would not feel comfortable walking in and this was during the day. Poverty is not something to gawk at. If the tour wishes to keep that neighborhood in its route then part of the ticket proceeds should automatically go toward that neighborhood to help in the bettering of it, otherwise it's just a distasteful drive-thru. It would make more sense to drive through billionaires row if the tour wants visitors to see parts of the city.

Whenever we visit a new city we usually do one of the city sightseeing hop on hop off bus tours as they are a good way to get your bearings. We were very disappointed with the service of the city sightseeing in San Francisco. The tour guides were good and it was a good way to see the city but the buses weren't very frequent which made us reluctant to get off. We did the trip over the Golden Gate bridge to Sausalito which was a lovely place and I would recommend visiting but we had to wait an hour for the bus back to San Francisco. We had intended to continue the rest of the tour after visiting sausalito but we were informed a bus had broken down and they didn't know when the next one on that route would be. We decided to take the option of staying on our current bus and going back to the start point. To be fair to the driver did a great job of giving us an interesting tour back. This tour was not up to the usual standard of City Sightseeing.

We usually use city sightseeing for our hop on hop off buses. We waited ages and no buses came. We rang head office and they didn't tell us they wernt trading .We went into the Hyatt and were told city sightseeing was no longer trading any tickets bought with them would be honoured by the other tour bus companies. Why didn't the person we spoke to on the phone tell is this rather than wasting time . Very disappointing we took our custom to the big red bus company. They don't have people on the street selling tickets you have to buy from approved hotels that have a sign.

Perhaps the only way to get all over San Francisco. The night trip is a must to do. If you have more than one day then take the 2day ticket to go all over the city.

I really tested the patience of this company!! First of all I booked the wrong two days and they changed the dates immediately with excellent customer service. The first day we travelled, there was the worse rain San Francisco has experienced in many years and I dropped my ticket on the floor of the bus and it fell apart. The second day, again with good grace they give me a new pass so we could carry on with experiencing this amazing city. I cannot praise the staff in the office and the staff in the terminus highly enough. If you’re in doubt about the value of this experience don’t, it’s well worth every cent.
