"The worst experience"
November, 2015
Our group was San Jose Elementary and our driver was John. My kids come from different countries so they were very excited and talkative. John was very rude and unprofessional. He threatened to do the tour in silence if they did not stop waving at people. Granted they were chatty but that's because they were excited most of them come from 3rd world countries and have never done anything like this. So there was a better for him to handle that and he didn't have to be so sarcastic. He did not handle it in a professional manner and the whole mood changed. No one had fun after that! We will not use this service again.

"Smokey's Secret Tips"
August, 2015
We chose this Red Train Tour mainly because they are pet friendly and we are traveling with our little Chihuahua "Nugget". We were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful job our driver and tour guide, Smokey did. He made each and every attraction come to life by not only providing the historical information but by offering rare, and interesting facts he researched on the subject. It was obvious that he loved his job and the city of St. Augustine. Now, we love St. Augustine, too.

"Free Rides"
July, 2015
The Red Train overall was very informative and convenient. My only complaint was I paid over $150.00 for tickets for my family and the driver of the train (Scott) let people get on the train at different stops and ride for free. He never checked for stickers or tickets. My son is in the Navy active duty and serves his country every day. He never expects anything for free. I paid full price for his ticket as did most of the people on the train. I do not feel it's fair for some to ride for free. I brought this to the attention of the staff where we bought the tickets and they could only give me a ridiculous excuse stating "they must have been employees riding for free". I don't believe a child 15 along with his 4 friends, a family of 6, and a couple here visiting from Georgia are Red Train Employees. If this company wants to give "free rides" offer that to the men and women who serve our country, police officers and fireman who risk their lives to protect our families every day.

"Great Information"
July, 2015
The Red Train tours/transportation is fabulous overall. We received excellent historical information and little-known facts from the driver we experienced the longest time- Benji. While moving us efficiently through the streets, he provided us with endless information about every significant or historical site we passed. I would definitely, myself, wait for him. On the other hand, if you prefer more of a"frat house" style of entertainment, "Flip" is your guy.

Tip: Find out the order/ numbered stops so that you can use the train more efficiently from where you are to whwre you want to go. Otherwise, you can spend an hour on the train thinking it would have been a ahort time only.

We visit St. Augustine couple times a year and always ride the Red Train,so much so we can recite our tour ourselves. Then you get drivers like Smokey, who had a lot of information we hadn’t heard, Daphne who was funny and Justin who we thought at first wasn’t into it but ended up being really good with a dry sense of humor. He had us cracking up. We always enjoy the Red Train!

Headed home from Central Florida we were looking for something to do in the afternoon on our way home. We knew we would find something in St. Augustine but never expected a tour of a city this cool. My two year old son actually picked this because he loves trains. It's a 90 min trip with shuttle stops at the main tourist attractions in the historic downtown area of the city with an entertaining way of presenting the information and city history along the way. My two year old son, who is extremely active, sat on our laps and happily listened and looked around the whole time. It was also an entertaining and appropriate trip for my 73 year old father in law. Just relaxing the whole way. I think the coolest thing about the red train ride is that it makes us want to come back and spend a few days exploring all the areas we learned about!

Great time!!! Smokey is the best! Great information along the route, not sure how he stays so upbeat!!! We experienced a heavy downpour while riding and he had enough plastic ponchos for everyone, so grateful! Reminded me a little of Dana Carvey with his humor/presentation style. Stay on for the entire ride then decide where you what you want to go back to

Red Train Tours is an excellent way to travel around St. Augustine, Florida and especially great if you have Smokey as your train driver. He goes over and above to provide historic information about the city and historic sites. Also, Doug (our van driver) is very personable and very knowledgeable about the city and things to do and see.

Great stops, great tour.... you can hop on and off at 21 sites. It's about 1 1/2 hour trip to ar all the sites of you choose not to get off. They will also pick u up from your hotel in a shuttle and take u to the train at the main ticket center and then return you to the hotel when u are ready to leave. They close at 5. It's open-air so if it's a cool day, be sure to bring a jacket. We had the absolute best tour guide we have ever experienced. His name is Smokey and I would give him more than 5 stars if I could!
