Description

from Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum
Ripley's St. Augustine is the first & Oldest Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odditorium!

Although Robert Ripley was a frequent visitor to St. Augustine and stayed in the building often, he did not create the museum. He died in 1949 and a year after his death, the Castle Warden was purchased to be the ideal, uniquely glamorous building to house his collections.

Collections that include real shrunken human heads, rosaries made of human bone, and a drum kit featuring two human skulls fused together and covered with human skin. Those and 800 other unique exhibits, artifacts, artwork and so much more await you and your family inside the museum right here in St. Augustine!

NOTE: In order to board the Ghost Train you must present your voucher and Photo ID at the Ripley’s Ghost Parlor at least 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time. Be sure to bring along a digital camera and any other recording gear you wish.

Our family really enjoyed our trip to Ripley's. There are a lot of things to see and experience. Our young twins loved the hands-on experiences and didn't want to leave. Yes...visit, enjoy the adventure, and see/learn something new and exciting!

"Family fun"
April, 2018
We purchased tickets online. Ticket prices are very affordable. This is an activity appropriate for the whole family. There are quite a bit of interactive things/activities throughout the museum. We brought children ranging from 7 to 10 years of age and all of them thoroughly enjoyed the museum. Every thing was displayed in an interesting manner and an educational manner. Everyone learned something here while having a blast! Bring some change with you because some of the interactive activities do require money while others are free. We did one activity that was $1 and still would have had a blast had we not done that activity. There are some displays set up for a good photo op. We spent about three hours in the museum and no one once complained about being bored. I would have been able to spend more time and would be willing to go back!

Tip: Go potty before you start the museum because there isn't one throughout and you have to exit the museum to use one if you've already started going through, but they will let you back in. Bring change for some interactive activities. Purchase tickets online because they're slightly cheaper and you get into the museum quicker.

"You Can Spend a Lot of Time Here"

There are sooo many interesting things to see here, you may spend a great deal of time looking, reading and even listening to the exhibits. I had been to Ripley's in Orlando, FL some years ago and it was good ---this was better. This exhibit is great for rainy days or cold days. (as this was) Actually, anytime. Everyone will find something of interest and amazement.

"Interesting couple hours"

I have visited this ripley's several times in my life and it's always an entertaining and interesting way to spend a couple hours. Weve made it through in just an hour but I can see a family with children could spend a couple hours due to the many hands on experiences provided. Many of the exhibits have been the same for years with small ones changed here and there. This isnt very accommodating for strollers unless you have a pretty small compact stroller.

First time ever being to this museum. Loved all the unique features it showed. Especially the jade carved ship and the mummified Egyptian cat. The glowing scorpions were awesome! The trick room was pretty cool!! Thanks for an awesome visit.

Recently visited while on a birthday-weekend day-trip with our family from elsewhere in the state. Our daughter is a Flagler College alumni and even with her being there for 4 years and our having visited St. Augustine a couple of dozen times, we had never been to Ripley's. Decided to give it a go for a change of pace. Stopped in just before lunch on a Saturday morning. Not crowded at all even though it's snowbird season. It's a LITTLE pricey, but not really out of line with other attractions here and elsewhere in the state. You do the tourist stuff, you pay the tourist stuff prices. Our group of 5 ran from 15 year old to pair of 30-somethings and pair of 60-somethings. Overall it was pretty interesting. Our 15 year old son got a little squeamish at some of the more grotesque stuff, but for the most part there was enough interesting items for everyone to enjoy something. I think my favorite was the huge matchstick model of the ISS & space shuttle. There are a fair number of stairs going up and down, got a little tiring on my old legs, but I survived. Overall a good place to kill and hour or so.
