It's a perfect way to see the La Jolla Cove and Sea Caves on a kayak for two. We visited in August when it was Leopard Shark season and rented snorkel gear after our kayak tour to take advantage of one of the top ten snorkeling spots in the world.

Our family went kayaking on a beautiful, September Saturday. The guides were friendly and helpful, and explained a lot about the area and history while we were kayaking. We look forward to returning!

"Great tour, but plan ahead to avoid extra fees"

Overall, had a great experience kayaking in La Jolla! In terms of booking it was easy to do online or over the phone. The day prior to our tour there were signs for poor weather and I received an email updating our tour time to ten minutes later than originally planned. The weather was overcast and we had slight rain but our group carried on without any difficulty. It was slightly annoying to have extra fees: $11 fee to rent a wetsuit (needed on a cold day), and $5 for a secure locker. Also they sell in their store dry bags for $35. It would be a nice convenience to offer a dry bag per kayak because we ended up not carrying our phones and so we didn’t have any pictures during our tour on the water. Our group had 22 in number. When we got they asked for 6 volunteers to join a separate tour guide. We volunteered to our advantage as our group went from 22 to 6. The smaller group allowed us to move quicker in the water, organize easier and allowed for more personal connection with our tour guide. Our tour guide, Corey, truly made an effort to make our experience a positive one. While kayaking out to the caves he shared his knowledge of San Diego and pointed out interesting facts and history that we could see on the coast including facts on Dr.Seuss’s mansion, the mayor of San Diego’s diving board, and geological features about the caves themselves. You could see his passion and care for the environment and San Diego history. He was helpful and even offered to take a picture for us upon our return. Overall we had a great morning!! Upon booking be sure to read the FAQ because that is where you can learn about the extra fees associated with rentals. I wish we were more prepared and brought our own dry bag, but it still made for a fun adventure!

Took my 5 year old out to explore and our guides (I only remember Nate’s name, sorry!) was great. It was super casual and laid back and a great way to spend the afternoon. They were super patient with those who were getting tired and gave great insight of the ocean life. We did go in the caves for a bit, and even saw a few dolphins and sea lions playing!

We enjoyed our time on the water with our guides. The set up is smooth to get your gear. Our guides were knowledgeable and personable. Our tour had people or all ages 7 to 60s and everyone was successful. We didn’t see whales but plenty of dolphins and sea lions.

Got a great deal on a kayak tour for 2 and it was much better than I expected! Not only was this the perfect date for my girl before she flew back to Europe, but it was a decent workout and highly informative trip! Maddie was an amazing guide and I'll be back for a whale watching tour asap!
