It looked like a silly tourist trap, but we were impressed by the antiques of 1904 and how they worked to improved lives- and the fun, dramatic explanations of the docents who were dressed in costumes of the day. It was worth the 35-40 minutes we spent there.

Honestly, not worth the price of non-package admission (and on the phone we were told it was free!) but we did it since it was included in our Hop On/Hop Off trolley package. It’s less than 30 minutes. The actor guides were nice and informative. I had a flashback immersive moment to the general store scene in “The Color Purple” when I saw the counter and register lol. The front store woman demonstrated some newest tech machines from the turn of the century, like a dried corn shucker. Didn’t know the cob should be saved as a tooth brush, back scratcher or toilet paper! The back storage part has bikes, large farming equipment and washing machines. The male actor was nice and knowledgeable. Only exclusive clients like John D. Rockefeller could go back there. The last part of the tour is self guided and a quick walk through. I liked the blacksmith tools and the bakery cart. Interesting trip to the past, making me appreciative of modern day conveniences.

This quaint little museum has a lot to offer visitors of all ages. Get a feel for what life was like at turn of the century America. You may want to carry smaller children, a bit bumpy for strollers. Wheelchair accessible, albeit a bit tight with regard to maneuverability.

The guides had lots of fun facts (and jokes). It did get a bit long and we started to lose interest but overall it was a good experience.
