Description

from Myrtle Beach SkyWheel
First, man flew to the moon and then, in 2011, they invented the SkyWheel – the first observation wheel of its kind in the United States. Want a better perspective? The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is 200-feet above sea level. Take a flight overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk in one of our 42 climate controlled and fully enclosed gondolas.

Situated as a centerpiece of the 1.2 mile-long Oceanfront Boardwalk and Promenade, the SkyWheel is surrounded by some tasty eats, great shopping and the pristine sands of the Atlantic. When you’re done having your breath taken away by the view from your flight, browse the LandShark SurfShack and then grab a bite at the LandShark Bar & Grill.

The ride lasts approximately 12 minutes with 4 rotations of the wheel.

Children under the age of 2 get to ride free with an Angel Ticket. Must visit the box office upon arrival to receive angel ticket.

"On top of the world!"
January, 2019 NEW
6 of us in a gondola, laughing at our fear of heights, toasty warm, worth every penny! A must do in Myrtle Beach! Thanks to reserve Myrtle Beach we saved money on our tickets making it affordable for our large family! I purchased the tickets while at the ride so the process was immediate and easy! The day was a little rainy but that's ok, from our private, cozy gondola we still had great views on the town below! In the eyes of my four children (7 years - 12 years), we were on top of the world! Could not get enough selfies! 5 revolutions around with the friendly staff waving at every turn, we would highly recommend this experience! We opted out of the $20 photo they took of us(which was great), but purchased a SkyWheel magnet in the adjoining shop to have as a keepsake! Don't miss the SkyWheel in Myrtle Beach! Now our goal is to hop aboard all these great SkyWheels, like Atlanta and Texas!!!

"Love Vacation"
January, 2019 NEW
The Skywheel was a very nice treat for our Myrtle Beach vacation. We stayed December 15th through the 19th 2018 and this was a must on our list of enjoying the boardwalk. The tickets were affordable and the discount given by Reserve Myrtle Beach was a nice bonus. The customer service experience at the Skywheel was very nice with all of the Southern Charm. We visited during the day to enjoy the sun and walk on the beach. We will definitely have to return during the night to view the scenary with the stars.

Tip: Accessible affordable parking. We parked in the lot of the Skywheel & paid for 3 hours & still had money on the meter.

We went to the SkyWheel on a Monday afternoon. It was not busy at all, which was great because we didn’t have to wait in line for very long. The people working talked to us while we were waiting, all had great customer service skills and great personalities.

"Great Views!"
September, 2018
My family and I went to the boardwalk area to walk around and my boyfriend and brother decided to go on the sling shot so I decided to take my 1 year old and 8 year old on the SkyWheel. Best decision! They loved it. Both were in awe of the views and how far you could see. The sky was clear and it seemed to be a full moon so that view was amazing. A bit of a wait but worth it.

"Amazing experience"
September, 2018
Me, my boyfriend and our two 7 year old girls rode the skywheel in myrtle beach. It was the biggest and most amazing ferris wheel we had ever been on. The view of the ocean and the boardwalk was breathtaking. It was one of the highlights of our vacation and we will share that memory forever. We will definitely be back on our next visit to myrtle beach.

I loved the view from the SkyWheel but it was way to expensive. We were there when It wasn’t very crowded so you would think they would let you ride a little longer but the ride was short. At that price, you ride one time and that’s it. Will not go back.

"Big wheel keep on burnin'! My money."

Know this. The Sky Wheel is not a thrill ride. If that's what you're looking for there's a human slingshot called "Free Fall" just up the street that will rocket you 175 feet straight up into the air in 3 seconds flat, and then you will free fall 175 feet back the earth and bungee bounce up and down for a while waiting for your stomach to relocate from your mouth to back down south. The Sky Wheel is a gentle ride into the sky in a very comfortable gondola large enough to seat 6 adults comfortably and a "flight" includes 4 revolutions which generally lasts from 10 to 15 minutes. The view is nice and the prices match the height of the wheel but hey, it's only money, right? $9 for kids 3 to 11, and $14 for enyone 12 and up. Sorry seniors, you just aren't special at "The Wheel," so don't ask. Personally I would rather take the 5 minute helicopter ride which is only $6 more and a heck of a lot more fun.

We decided to do Sky wheel at night to see Myrtle Beach lit up. The ride was very nice. The cars were heated and warm which was great because it was cold outside. There are great views from the cars. We went around three times and were done. It was a nice 15 minutes of fun.

My first time - lol I am a native! I was the tour guide for the church group in town helping with flood victims - they were staying at our church - so we wanted to show them a little bit of fun - and the sand. So we took them to the sky wheel - I tried to get discount tickets or free tickets. But no luck - It was a great ride and they loved it !
