Service on a whole was poor. Was not told it was under construction and not many facilities!

"Large rooms, nice property"
March 2015
Melia is conveniently located, has enormous apartment-sized rooms on a nice property. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The carpets could use a refresh as there are many stains and frays.

I don’t write many reviews. But this hotel really doesn’t deserve 4 stars. - They gave away my reservation accidentally to someone else. - My room had full trash cans of... trash in it when I arrived - AC was broken. (In Orlando. It gets hot.) - Concierge will regularly hang up on you when you try to call. Dialed 6 times to order dinner. Never got through. - Was finally told restaurant would “call me back”. They never did. - Ordered UberEATS instead. Concierge rejected the order, demanding that the delivery person wait outside until I get there. - Water pressure is super slow. - Staff claims packaged food is “prepared daily”, but is obviously left out in the fridge for many days. - Refused to serve me coffee at breakfast “unless I sat down”. - Overcharged me, I think(?). We’ll see. Credit card is still pending release of the charge. Anyway, I was surprised. Really surprised. But would never stay here again given the choice.

"Fine for families, poor for individual stay"

I stayed at this property for 3 nights, traveling for business. For that reason, I booked a single king room - not a suite. I could hear everything from the connecting room next door that would normally open to create a suite. There was a huge gap under the door and no insulation. I tried to cover the gap with an extra pillow and towel but could still hear the TV and conversations. When I checked out, I was slapped with a $20/night resort fee that was not well-advertised on the booking site or at check-in. $20/night might be worth it for a family taking advantage of the pool and the shuttle to Disney, but it was definitely a ridiculous fee for a single traveler not using these amenities. Either way, it should be made much clearer in the booking process. Finally, breakfast was included in my room rate, which was fine, but I think it was something crazy like $15 for those who didn't have it included and it was mostly lukewarm, greasy food - no healthy options, and the unhealthy options weren't that tasty. Overall an underwhelming stay. Would not recommend unless you are a family looking for an option close to Disney and don't care about noise from adjoining rooms. Property was clean, staff was nice. I also did appreciate the effort to eliminate disposable plastics, but make sure you travel with a large water bottle!

"Great family friendly suite hotel near Disney and other Orlando parks"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We had a great time staying at the Melia Orlando--we had a 2 BR, 2 BA suite for grandparents, parents and one child. It was very large and comfortable. The hotel had a nice pool area and otherwise had good amenities. Convenient shuttle to Disney and other properties. Also free van service to Downtown Celebration. Great value for the rate charged.

My husband brought me to Orlando for my birthday and we stayed at Melia Orlando. Asmaa checked us in and she was very welcoming, professional and friendly. The hotel is exceptionally clean and our suite was outstanding. We stayed at Gran Meliá in Puerto Rico in 2008 for our honeymoon and we received exceptional service and our stay here at Melià Orlando was just as good with such a nice hotel concierge.
