"Nice hotel, but shady practices regarding valet parking fees"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed April 19, 2019 NEW
Stayed there last week (April 2019) for three nights. The hotel itself is nice, and the room was decent too. The shower had very low water pressure, though, which was surprising for a Marriott. HOWEVER, the low rating on my part is because when I arrived, I asked the gentleman at the valet lane how much it would cost and he told me $40/day. I decided to go ahead and park my car there even though the cost was a bit higher than other area garages. When I checked out though, I found I was charged almost $58/day (including tax), which is ridiculous. For a three day total of $173.46. I called the hotel and have yet to be able to talk to a manager. But I find it interesting that I can't find the parking rate anywhere on their website, the valet guy tells me one thing, and then I get charged a lot more. Had I been told it was almost $60 a day, I would have NOT parked there. SHADY SHADY SHADY!

"Nice hotel/location "

Hotel was in a great location as in many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff was great to make sure you had a taxi very quickly to get somewhere if need to go be vehicle. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Starbucks on premises.

"Impressive name disappointing experience"

No late checkout even for a Marriott premier visitor, terrible reception pickup time for any call whatsoever, incredibly slow valet - admittedly all first world problems. Still for a US frequent traveler and for a premium brand - disappointing.

"The 4 star rating must be a joke"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

Stayed here with family. There's no way this is a 4 star hotel in any shape or form. The only thing it has going for it is the building and interior, which is modern and clean. Everything else is dismal. The staff were ridiculously unprofessional. From the check in staff who need a lesson in smiling and etiquette (don't tell your guest to "have a good one man", try smiling and maybe bother asking for a bonvoy number after asking if the guest has an account. I don't know if we even got the member rates- it already felt like we were inconveniencing them from having a relaxed day), to the wait staff at the breakfast restaurant who, when asked to set an extra seating (he either forgot or couldn't count past 4), fisted a napkin and cutlery from next table and put it in front of me, wrinkled napkin and all then proceeded to SLIDE a glass of water across the table at me when I asked. Had to tip, of course. The a la carte breakfast was very nice. The buffet was laughable with minimal options for hot and cold food. Whether or not the bellboys outside will help you with bags is likely dependent on the alignment of the planets. The room was clean, furnished well. No ceiling lights to speak of in the room, only bedside and floor lamp. Amenities okay. No bedroom slippers or bathrobe. You will be charged a 50 dollar incidentals fee per room but don't be surprised when the actual minibar is empty. There's otherwise a keurig with coffee and tea pods. Comfortable beds. So certainly nowhere near a 4 star hotel. Local culture aside, it is evident that the staff have either never travelled or lack appropriate training in hospitality. Avoid if possible, not worth the price point.

"i had never stayed here before"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

i have never stayed here before. The check-in area was not well labeled as a check-in area (although it was rather airy and spacious). The whole ambiance of the hotel is very specious and rather grand. The lobby is VERY large, with a multi-story atrium (my room was on the 7th floor and the atrium went higher than that). While my room was not ready, the promised to call when it was (and I checked in far in advance of the check-in time). They offered double beds rather than a single king bed, but I declined. I got my typical single king bed feather free room. they called when it was ready, as advertised. The room itself was rather spacious (even though I was traveling as a single). The bathroom was of good size. The concierge lounge was amazing; very large and well stocked with "stuff" at various times of the day. The staff was extraordinarily attentive and very nice. I was offered a napkin (which I declined, being a bit of a slob). When I was looking for half and half, they got some from the kitchen.
