"Magic of Polynesia at Holiday Inn Waikiki Beachcomber Resort"

It was a last-minute decision of ours to see this show, as we had a spare evening. What a great decision we made! It is an amazing show and John Hirokawa is an excellent illusionist, as well as putting together a wonderful show. As well as his act, there were Polynesian dancers and a stunning fire act It's suitable for families, has humour as well as great magic acts and various types of Polynesian dancing. Well worth seeing.

Tip: People can either book for dinner & the show or just for the show. We elected to forgo dinner + we had heard that dinner was nothing special.

"Terrible food!"

The Magic of Polynesia show itself was fine and entertaining. However, the food here was probably the worst I have ever had. We had 97 travelers with us and most of us couldn't even tell what kind of meat was being served. It appeared to be a BBQ rib, but upon further inspection it was an oddly cut piece of chicken. The fish was literally a frozen fish-stick type patty. Everyone commented on how poor the food was. The drinks had absolutely no alcohol in them at all, even though they were advertised as alcoholic. The service was pretty poor, even to the point where our table ended up getting up and serving others the dessert that was supposed to be passed around. I can't believe this place gets away with this poor of service and food - but the place was full and I guess until tour groups stop supporting it, the poor quality will continue!

Booked the premier steating with free cocktail. (no meal as had only heard bad things about it) Got an amazing deal on the price and great seats to match. Free cocktail meant anything off the drinks menu so you have a selection to pick from Warm up entertainer was great and followed by the dancers and the magic show. Whilst some were the standard tricks the crowd participation was good with lots of humour as well. Dorie was looking after us and wow she did an amazing job!! Run off her feet but making sure we had everything we needed - definite credit to her Something different to occupy the nights in Hawaii and would recommend (minus the food!)

We found the show to be quite entertaining! Magic was cool, dancers were easily the best part, and the humor was on point. Skip the food and save your money though.

"Very Disappointing"

Purchased the top package with bone in filet. Steak was served cold and with no seasoning whatsoever. Potatoes were like paste and like the steak tasteless. Slow service and they were out of red wine. The stage show magic consisted of several variations of a single illusion. The fire dancer was excellent which is the ONLY reason this got a second star.

Some of the magic tricks were ones I have seen before, typical. There was a lot of time in between the magic tricks, just waiting with music playing. The Polynesian performers were good though. I would say it was half magic and half Polynesian performing, dance.
