"Fun for the kids"

The website says it is idea for kids aged 3-10. I think aged 3 might be a little young since most 3 years old cannot build a Lego set. I would recommend a little older once they can appreciate putting Lego pieces together. As with most play areas, the older kids can be intimidating for the younger kids. It is a fun place for kids but it does get crowded and some kids will run wild. Your admission says unlimited rides so the plural “s” means 2 rides. The Kingdom Quest ride is fine, 4 in a cart and it is like an arcade ride and you get points for shooting villains to rescue the princess. The other ride, Merlin Apprentice is also fine, 2 in a ride and the harder you pedal the higher your ride can go. Both rides have long lines. When we were there, the staff does not monitor the lines and some energetic kids kept on skipping and going back into the lines. You hate to say something because in many of these kids places if you say anything the other parents get defensive and then you have adults fighting. There is a 4D movie theatre and the person said it is 20 minutes and there are 4 different shows that keeps rotating. So we liked the first movie so we exit and went around to see the next movie. However, they made a mistake and did not rotate the movie and it was the same movie. There are 3 rooms of Lego displays: Chicago landmarks, Jungle scenery and Star War Lego. The displays are nice to see. We went on-line and ordered our tickets, it is discounted if you order on-line but you can purchase at the door. When you order on-line, you have to pick a time and it is only a 30 minute window so we walked around the shopping center until it was our time. There is a Lego shop in the front and we asked if we could go a few minutes before our time slot and she said it was fine. I did ask since we are from out of town what would happen if we missed our 30 minute window due to traffic and she said it was okay to be late but not early. In summary, the staff is friendly and helpful. The kids do have a good time. I would suggest 3 hours for the kids to have a good time.

"Great Place for Younger Kids"

Our first time going, my expectations were low. First off, we did the National Kid discount (buy an adult ticket, get a kid ticket free located on Groupin’s site) which cut down on the cost. The displays were neat. My 5 year old twins loved the Star Wars display. This place is small but perfect for younger kids. We went on MLK day and it wasn’t super busy. We had an enjoyable afternoon! Thanks Legoland Schaumburg!

Adults are full price even though you're just monitoring your child. Lines to do anything are ridiculously long- i assumed you bought tickets ahead so it wasn't crowded. there was soooo many people my anxiety was insane trying to keep my eye on my daughter.

We went to this Legoland during the week at the end/middle of August before school started. We had scheduled a time, but got there a bit early and they still let us in. It wasn't too busy when we got there and it was a lot of fun for my 3 and 7 year old. They enjoyed the experience. I think they're about the perfect age. My 7 year old did have fun, but I think he was thinking it was going to be more like Disney World...or the Legoland in Fl or Ca. I could see going there again but I'm not sure my kids are that into Legos to want to do it again.

"Great for Young Kids"

We enjoyed the 4D movies, the ride where you shoot spiders and such with your laser pistol and the car building area with ramp and the pirate ship. The flying ride was also fun. There are a lot of Lego sculptures to look at including the Chicago skyline, Obama, Batman and Indiana Jones. There isn't that much for older kids except for an advanced building workshop, so I'd probably just bring the little ones (3 to 11 years old)
