Description

from Island Breeze Lu'au
Winner of the "Best of West Hawaii" award which was first presented in 2000, the Island Breeze Luau at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is a favorite of kama'aina (local residents), visitors and travel professionals.

Each evening guests are invited to join in a cultural experience that shouldn't be missed. The lu'au is well known for its delicious food and its amazing Polynesian production, and its beautiful unique location. It is held on the beachfront of historic Kamakahonu Bay and Ahu Ena, Kamehameha the Great's former estate in Kailua-Kona. Guests enjoy a backdrop of passing fishing boats, paddlers in outrigger canoes, and the lights of Kona and Mount Hualalai.

Considered a "Royal Hawaiian Experience", the lu'au features a 22 dish buffet, open bar, Polynesian arts & crafts demonstrations, and the Royal Court procession. Highlighting the evening is the spectacular Polynesian Revue. Where authenticity and the skills of the Island Breeze Ohana, is matched only by the spirit of aloha they share with the audience. All of this creates a very special cultural experience and memories that will last a lifetime.

"Luaua"

It does not get a very good only because weather forced it inside which really takes something away from the event. However they were willing to change it to another day for me , unfortunately I was leaving the island and was not able to reschedule.

"Luau Love"

I Lved the Island Breeze Luau. It was my first time to visit Hawaii. The luau was not just entertaining and delicious. It was also like watching a living history lesson. I learned about all the Polynesian countries that influenced Hawaii through dance. The unveiling of the pig at the beginning of the dinner portion was also very cool. Watching King Kamehameha and the Royal Court walk in at the beginning showed how important the Royal Family still is to the people of Hawaii. I just want to say Mahalo to Island Breeze for the wonderful experience ????

"When in Hawaii you have to take in a luau."

Great fun to do a luau. Meal was just okay but wasn't expecting too much. It's hard to do a great meal for that large a crowd and serve it outside.

"Felt a little rushed."

When compared with other luaus this all felt a bit rushed. The performance was very good, all the entertainers are doing an exceptional job. Need a bigger area for the pre performance entertainment.

I have been to Maui, Oahu and Big Island multiple times, but never to a luau. This was on my bucket list to do. Fruit punch, coffee & Mai Tai's were complimentary, food was fair and entertainment was even less than comparable. The dancers took a break during dinner service which was over 30+ minutes. Parking was compensated for the first $5, after which you were responsible for the balance. Quite the racket considering they nickel / dime you coming and going. They invite everyone to gather in a circle to witness the pig being raised after it has been roasting in the ground all day. Seriously, inviting all guests to get up from their seats to view this ritual is odd. You're not going to see anything! My husband and I left early, upon walking out we weee reminded the entertainment was going to start up again soon. Not impressed and I wouldn't recommend unless they at least cut the price by a minimum 50%.

"Biggest bang for the buck we've had in years."

After 4 trips to the Big Island we did what many people told us to avoid, a luau. Was worth every penny. The setting is beautiful. Food was good but not outstanding. The entertainment was incredible, great music and the hula dancers were outstanding. Sorry we didn't go sooner, would definitely do again and would recommend it to anyone..

It was my first Luau and my first time in Hawaii. Entertaining throughout. The food was amazing. The drinks were strong. I asked one of the dancers to marry me. I hope she never forgets me. I had a blast!
