"Perfect off-site hotel"
January, 2019
The Holiday Inn Resort Lake Buena Vista was a pleasant surprise. It was very clean and bright, and our view of the pool was so relaxing after a long day at Disney. Nicole in the Tiki bar was a great conversationalist! This hotel was convenient to all Orlando attractions. We will definitely stay here again.

"Great trip!"

Hotel was very clean, everyone was very nice and helpful. Great stay. They do charge a $15 per day resort fee which would be my only dislike.

"Best hotel ever"

The bed felt like a cloud. The proximity to parks and restaurants was awesome. The shuttle service was wonderful.

Tip: Applebees has a breakfast buffet but it is more economical to go to Dennys down the street or chick fillet across the street or dunkin to the left.

The room area is sparse, but if you intend on been on the move from park to park, it is all you need. The free coffee in the room is very welcome as well.

"Awesome Hotel - OK Shuttle"
December, 2018
If not for the shuttle we would give this a 5 star review, which isn't totally fair because the shuttle is operated by a 3rd party. BUT, let's be honest, if you're here for Disney or Universal, the shuttle matters.
This hotel was one of the least expensive options, so we didn't expect too much, but we were floored. The hotel was beautiful and amazing. Our room was huge. The staff was friendly and wonderful. Pool is huge! It was a great hotel.
The shuttle always picked us up on time, but it took different routes all the time, so we were never quite sure when we'd get to the park. Getting back to the hotel was always a challenge. One night the driver stopped in some random location, and got off without saying anything. He was gone for literally about 15 minutes with no explanation. We took ridiculous routes back to the hotel which took forever to get back.
Other than the difficulty with the shuttle, it was amazing!!! (And, like I said the shuttle gets us where we are going, we just don't know when).

Tip: Amazing hotel, but if you want to get back fast at the end of the day, or get there right when the park opens, the shuttle isn't reliable enough to count on that.

"Love this hotel"

Our third holiday at this hotel, March 2019, 3 adults and 2 kids. Excellent service, clean room, housekeeping daily, pool well used by the kids. As always Dan is the man to keep children entertained. Grounds well maintained, staff always polite and courteous. Everything we’d ever want on a vacation. Great location and lots of food places nearby. Only issue I had was climbing into the new “high” bed. I’m 5 ft 5 1/2” with the beginnings of arthritis in both knees and at times it was difficult getting in. Beds were very comfortable but the height could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. This may not be a problem for for taller people but I thought I’d add it as a “be aware” note. Would stay here again.

"Wonderful Place to Holiday"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5
Reviewed March 18, 2019 NEW
We are home from a week holiday at this resort. It was wonderful. (last week of February) place to vacation. The pool was absolutely great. Heated very warm just the way i like it. I travelled with my daughter and grandson. He couldn't get enough of the pool. I am sure it was heated to well into the 90 degrees. Applebees restaurant was part of the resort and had a tiki bar at the pool. It was very handy to sit at the pool and order your food and eat lounging there or at the tables. You didn't have to pay for it when you got your food, but with I.D. charge it to your room. Nice not to have to carry money around. There are all kinds of restaurants within walking distance of this resort so there was no shortage of other restaurants to eat at. Children ate free at Applebees, but i did find even with that ,the breakfasts were very expensive. I kept converting it into Canadian dollars and i would never pay that back home here in Ontario. We did eat alot of breakfasts on the run to our holiday travels. (legoland, wax museum) which meant grabbing food at McDonalds. That helped the budget. The hotel itself was very clean and had nice staff working there. We had a great cleaning lady and no complaints whatsoever., very comfy beds as well. We were on the 6th floor and at evenings we watched a wonderful display of fireworks that we assume were from Disney. There are activities at the pool for children. My grandson is quite shy and finally we coaxed him into participating. I believe it was Joshua that did the games. He was very friendly and we appreciated him talking to my grandson when he would meet him in the hotel and calling him by his name. The only complaint i have about this hotel. was that it kept playing the same movie in the little theatre for the children for a few days in a row. It was nice to go down and watch it at nights. My favourite parts were the very comfy beds and the very warm heated pool-exactly how i like it. and never a shortage of towels at the pool either. I wasn't aware that when i checked out there wou;d be a resort fee. It did add up for 8 days. This is a place definately worth going to.

"You can't find a better resort!"

Having completed another 10 night stay for the 25th consecutive year, I can still say this resort never disappoints. The room is always spotless, and the staff members always friendly. Its always refreshing to see the familiar faces there as well. Danny the bell hop, Xavier in security, and of course Dan Stapleton, the pool activities director, who happens to be a phenomenal magician as well. I was fortunate enough to take in one of his performances at a magic shop in Old Town, an easy 10 minute drive from the resort. There are several restaurants and Disney theme parks within close proximity, and transportation is provided to the parks. It's a very family oriented resort, and I especially like just hanging by the pool. Many friendships have been made there. I highly recommend this resort.

"Loved the hotel, but beware of hidden fees!"

We have four kids so this place was perfect for us. They have family suites: a king bed with two sets of bunk beds tucked into its own little nook with its own tv. Staff were polite and friendly, bed was comfy, rooms were clean, grounds and pool area neat and tidy. Our kids had so much fun and the water was warm enough for mama to enjoy a swim. This will possibly be our go-to hotel in Orlando but I will call directly next time and book so I can confirm the full price. My only complaint was the added fees we were charged at check-in. I paid in advance when we booked and the rooms came to $348 with an additional $103 in taxes and fees. I get to the hotel and check-in and am charged another $58. For what, I have no idea but with the $103 fees I already paid at booking, that’s a little ridiculous. More than the cost of a room! Live and learn, I guess!
