Description

from Haleo Luau
Island Breeze Productions presents Haleo each Monday and Friday evening in the incomparable oceanfront setting at Sheraton Keauhou Bay's Bay View Lawn.

Haleo, the “voice of life,” celebrates the history of Keauhou and the heart of those who came from this land. The talented dancers and musicians of Island Breeze Productions invite you to join them on a journey to the past and experience a special time in Hawaiian history.

Held on the oceanfront of the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, this luau brings you back to a time that is remembered and cherished. From the birth of Kamehameha III to surfing tales of He’eia Bay to the battle of Kuamo’o, performers share the stories of ancient Hawaii through language, culture, music, and dance. Keauhou translated into English means “new era.” The area is significant for being the playground of Hawaii’s royalty, ali’i.

Meet the dancers before the show and “talk story.” Enjoy live dinner music under the Hala trees on the southern shores of Keauhou Bay and indulge in a Hawaiian feast that’s so unique it can only be found in paradise.

Every Luau says they are the best. I read reviews on them all and decided on the Luau at the Sheraton Resort in Kona since we were staying there and the reviews were great! Not disappointed. My 2 daughters weren't too excited when I told them we were going to a luau but quickly changed their minds once we got there. Hawaii weather was great, food was fantastic, setting was great and the entertainment was a 10+. A must to see when you are on the Big Island.

The luau started with us being able to purchase flower laies so bring cash we were not told about that. It was at our hotel so we thought for the convince it would be worth it so we could have a few drinks and walk home. Drinks were not good, food was okay. Our boys ages 9 and 10 loved the final act. The narrator was the best part of the entire experience. Very authentic and beautiful. The entire process seemed very gimmicky. Heard from our friends the Royal Kona Luau was much better had a pig brought up from the ground very authentic and wonderful.

It was a great evening with great food (buffet) all you could eat as well as open bar with some fantastic drinks. The music and entertainment was awesome and would recommend taking in this show. The only disappointment of the night was that it was raining and instead of it being on the beach it was held indoors.

We have gone to over a dozen luaus spanning a couple of decades. We went to the Haleo Luau at the Sheraton at Keauhou Bay last night. I almost did not book a luau based on some past reviews of a number of different luaus around Kona. We have been to every luau at every major hotel on the big island in the last decade. This is a COMPLETELY new show. New dances, new stories, new host and with the exception of a couple of old cast members everything is fresh and new including costumes. The food was excellent and in the spirit of Hawaiian cuisine. Plenty of variety for those on a specific kind of diet. Parking is NO problem. You pick up a ticket when you enter the parking lot so the gate will open and once the show is complete the gates were wide open and we were out of there in a flash. The band played for 2 hours. Yes, we got a lei that we kept after getting our picture. No pressure to keep the picture if you do not want it. I can't speak to the cash bar which remained open till the end of the show after your one free May Tai to start the evening. Checkin was a breeze and there is not a bad seat with kids and parents invited to sit on mats inches from the stage. Every cast member had big smiles all night and stayed around after the show to chat. The pre-dinner games were fun and we did several. This is one show we look forward to seeing next year! Excellent Luau. Mahalo!!!!

We spent our 10 year Anniversary in Hawaii. A Luau was suggested and we decided that would be a great anniversary dinner and show. It turned out amazing! The show was great, Auntie Tutu was hilarious and the Mai Tai supply was endless!

Was warned not to expect too much from the food but was pleasantly surprised. Staff calls you table by table to the buffet which moves quickly and is constantly being restocked so they never run out of anything. Dishes are labeled if Gluten Free. Lots to choose from. The GF Teriyaki Beef was amazing and such a treat! My vegan daughter got a special plate delivered to pur table. Desserts and coffee were plentiful. Show was great but it started to rain so we left a little early but performers were so professional. Well worth the price!
