Description

from Ferry Services
Blue & Gold Fleet is the premier provider of ferry and water excursion services on San Francisco Bay, providing regular ferry service to Sausalito, Tiburon, and Angel Island.

Angel Island:
Take the Angel Island ferry for a day of fun and history in the middle of the Bay. Angel Island is a California State Park, wildlife preserve and one of the finest historical sites in the Bay Area that includes military garrisons and compounds from every major war dating back to the U.S. Civil War.
Also known as the “Ellis Island of the West,” Angel Island’s Immigration Station was the first stop for millions of Pacific Basin, Asian and Russian immigrants entering the United States. Be sure to check out the newly-restored Immigration Station!

Sausalito Ferry:
Step aboard the Sausalito Ferry for a smooth, comfortable ride to this delightful community just across the Bay. The city of Sausalito offers the charm of a quaint Mediterranean seaside village tucked amongst the hills of Marin County. Meander the narrow streets, browse through art galleries and shops, and dine at some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area, all the while enjoying stunning views of San Francisco.

Tiburon Ferry:
Take the Blue & Gold Fleet Tiburon Ferry for a memorable and relaxing time. Tiburon is a former railroad town that was the terminus of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad until 1963. Since then, it has been transformed into a charming seacoast village. Tiburon’s classic main street offers antique, wine, specialty shops and more. Bring your bike along and leisurely tour the shoreline paths or physically challenge yourself by hiking nearby Mt. Tamalpais.

NOTE: Cruises may not operate during inclement weather.

"Best Christmas Parade Cruise in 20 Years"
December, 2016
I have taken the Lighted Yacht Parade cruise for over 15 years. This year was remarkable because of Capt Tom and Crew. Capt Tom wanted all of us in the spirit and asked that we call attention to our Ferry Boat as we approached the judges viewing area. We all had snacks and drinks and were enjoying the mild night. I tried to pass it along to sing Jingle Bells as we were going but I couldn't get it to catch on. I saw the first mate and asked him to tell the Captain to suggest it on the speaker. Within i minute Capt Tom invited me up and said the singing was a great idea but he needed both hands to manage the boat. He gave me the mic and introduced me as the New Even Coordinator. He and I lead several christmas songs that Everone joined in on. I pointed out other boats and told jokes and everyone was laughing and really having fun. When we passed the judges even people on the toilets were singing. All because Capt Tom and the crew saw an avenue and took it. We had a fantastic evening and I thank Blue and Gold for opening my groups holiday in a Holly Jolly Way!!!!

The cruise was nice, but it sounds fancier on their website than what it is. It’s an older ferry with a bar station downstairs and some tables. They have an older tape that plays for the “guided tour”. It wasn’t bad for the price.

This route took me to Angel Island, then onto Tiburon, Sausalito and back to Pier 41. Lucky that we had a clear sunny day and best stop is right at the front of the boat; which seems like most people did not know about as they were all huddled in the back! If it’s raining you will not enjoy it as you really need to be outside to get great views of Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Easy way to get around and of course the Captain has the best job and view of the day! You can purchase drinks and snacks onboard but perhaps best to bring your own (especially if going Angel Island off season).

We purchased the City Pass booklets which included a free ferry ride as part of the $89 booklets. The ferry ride was very informative about the history of the city. I’d recommend this tour if you have limited time in the city and want to get wonderful pictures of the top attractions from the water. Make sure you go on a clear day. The tour lasts one hour.

Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise out to the Golden Gate Bridge and we then circled the infamous Alcatraz Island. The recorded English commentary was very informative throughout the voyage. The noisy sea lions were a welcome sight after departure!

"Watch out to buy correct ticket"

After your bike ride from SF to Sausalito this is 1 of 2 options to ferry back to SF. -Golden gate Ferry to pier 1 (Ferry building/Embarcadero/Food market) -Blue and Gold Fleet to pier 39/41 (Fishermans Warf) By bike less than 10 mins distance from 1 to the other location. Both $12,50 Look up on the website for accurate schedule. Its a rather comfortable ride of approx 20mins, stable (havent seen anybody seesick), lots of place to stall your bike. The Ferry has a few decks and restrooms, and a snackbar. You dont need to buy the ticket before you board ashore with the machines (cash, debit and creditcard), you can simply buy your ticket on the ferry as wrll. Less hassle. However if you buy it beforehand make sure you watch which Ferry you want to take... Since they let you board without checking the ticket, and only at arrival check on it.
