"Location with Great Value"
TripAdvisor user rating 4 out of 5

I've stayed here several times as the location is convenient for my needs, there are plenty of good to very good restaurants within walking distance and it is priced right. Lobby is good, free breakfast is slightly better then average and my rooms have been very good. They recently added an $8 charge for parking which is not needed and not appreciated so, for the money, I may try the nearby Courtyard next time. Having said that, this is still a solid recommendation for this hotel.

"Uncomfortable Stay"

Reviewed February 27, 2019 NEW
As we were visiting family and friends for a week in the area we thought this hotel would be a good location for us to stay. As it turned out the location was the only good thing about this hotel. At check in they told us they had a new policy in which they charge $8./day for parking. My husband tried to tell him that we were not told about this but they insisted that was what they were charging now. They then said that our request for a first floor room could not be honored as redecorating work would start in a couple days on that floor, so they simply gave us a room on the top floor 7. After taking our luggage to the room my husband found the hotel booking details that, fortunately, he had copied before our journey. On the booking it said that parking at this hotel was "FREE". So he took his printed booking details to the front desk and handed them to the front desk clerk and told him that he didn't feel that we should be charged for parking as the booking clearly stated parking was free. The clerk then took the booking details to the manager then returned saying he would take the charge off our account. While my husband was sorting this out I was cleaning the dirty room we were given and trying to fit our luggage into the tiny room. The sink area had about 6" on each side, hardly big enough to put two wash bag or one for that matter. The dirty microwave had a rotating tray that did not rotate so I struggled everyday to get the microwave pack I brought for my neck to heat up. The beds were very hard, which did not help my neck problems. There was not enough room between the beds and the desk & TV unit for two people to walk and we had to move the desk chair to get to the free standing closet. This is the first Fairfield Inn that we have been in that has rooms so tiny that it is actually difficult for people to move around in. The toilet did not flush properly so it required us to flush it 2 or 3 times. The next morning when we showered the water did not drain away so we removed the tub stopper hoping that would help but the water still filled up to our ankles and would not drain away until several minutes after turning the water off. They obviously have some plumbing issues. The elevator was dirty during our entire stay and the rails inside were held on with screws that were hanging half out and the elevator made odd concerning noises sometimes which we reported to the front desk but they just brushed it off saying they had that problem before and it probably needs fixing again. The hotel breakfast area was disappointing too. One would think that a large hotel such as this would be prepared and organized to serve the number of guests they have. All the tables were filled and there were people standing around not knowing what to do or where they could sit. I sure didn't feel compelled to join that mess. The a guy with a hotel badge walked into the kitchen then came out just looking around at the crowd or people so I asked him how are we suppose to find a place to eat? I would take it back to my room but it is so tiny there isn't much room there to eat either so why don't you open up another area so people have somewhere to sit. He said we don't want you to have to eat in your room and that he would have another room opened up, which he had done right away. However, he should not have waited for a guest to tell him what he should have been doing before things became such a mess. I'm not going to talk about the breakfast food other than to say it was nothing to look forward to. The management of this hotel needs to learn how to run a hotel properly and if they would take the time to visit the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Woodland, California they could see how this is done. We have nothing but praise for the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Woodland, CA, where we have stayed several times, as they clearly know how to run a clean and comfortable hotel. Needless to say, we will never stay at the Buena Park Fairfield Inn again.

"Terrible Customer service "
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5
Reviewed December 28, 2018
If I could give negative stars I would. Customer service was terrible. We are platinum members of Marriott. We had five rooms reserved and prior to arrival we called and were told if rooms were available we could check in early and breakfast would be available. When we arrived we were told no rooms were available at the time. That was not an issue. We went to eat breakfast and the manager came over and proceeded to harass the members of our party for payment of food and tell them we needed to pay as breakfast meals were covered for the next day and not the current one. I have NEVER BEEN TOLD THAT OR EXPERIENCED such mistreatment or disrespect. I told him I would pay for.the food and he continued to request monies and even after i said i would walk over once I made the plate for my child. I paid for the food ($8 a plate!) and observed the staff watching our party as if we were criminals. I will never stay at this property as long as "Juan" is management because he obviously based on his presumptions and biases needs sensitivity training on customer treatment and satifaction. Marriott please deal with him and his staff.

"Better than expected."

Check in was easy and the lady on the front desk was very pleasant. The room was very clean but VERY small. We had a 2 queen standard room, there was a single sink outside of the toilet/bathroom, bathroom was very small as well. We stayed two nights was quiet and other than the size of the room had a very pleasant stay. Would get a suite next time.
