"Vacation"

Was a nice hotel for the most part. The pool was supposed to be heated but was very cold. I think they should invest in a hot tub! The staff waa very nice and helpful. The maid service came in everyday and did an exceptional job.

Tip: It's a beautiful hotel and very well maintained and clean. The staff are very pleasant and if you have any problems they will assist in fixing them.

"Christian Couple Retreat."

The hotel was a perfect location for our retreat. The conference room worked well and was very comfortable. It was also beneficial having a place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on site. I definitely loved the warm chocolate chip cookies!!

"VSB Criminal Law Seminar"

Va State Bar Criminal Law Section held its continuing education seminar at this hotel. Excellent, close to everything in Williamsburg. Negative is a lack of adequate electric outlets in conference rm.

"Perfect Basecamp for exploring Williamsburg"

I have stayed at the DoubleTree for an annual conference for the last several years. First, the location is excellent as it is near Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country, and Busch Gardens. Second, the conference center amenities were exactly what we needed. Finally, the availability of fresh cookies night or day, definitely inspires customer loyalty.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have never experienced a problem. The staff is great! I was unsure of the duration of my trip and was offered more than enough time while I was waiting to hear. Very accommodating!

"Smells bad"

The hotel smells bad. Parts of it near the main elevators on the third floor smelled like very old very used cat litter and dirty socks and the areas beyond the third floor ramp where my room was smelled like sewer gas especially near the bathrooms both in my room and the public restrooms in the common areas throughout the hotel. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent but I have to give the hotel a poor rating for value and cleanliness because of the unpleasant odors. The nightly rate was too much for accommodations with smells that make me doubt the overall cleanliness of the hotel in the back of my mind.
