"4 night stay with 2 young children "

We just got back from staying at the animal kingdom lodge with our 2 yr old and 8 mos old. Overall the stay was nice. We saw giraffes and wildebeests right outside our balcony so the kids loved it. They also provided a pack and play with Mickey bedsheets for my 8mos old The weather wasn’t super hot so we only went to the pool one day but it was a nice size and they provided life vests for the babies and there’s a water slide and they had some ball floaties for the kids. There are also daily activities that you can check out. My kids were too young so we just let them wander around mainly. The hotel is pretty large and we were at the Jambo house. There’s a bus that takes you to Magic Kingdom and other areas. It’s also part of the Disney Magical Bus transportation from the airport which it’s free and they’ll pick up your luggage and deliver it to the hotel! And we were able to check into our airline from the hotel lobby! There’s a kiosk that’s opened from [6am] to noon I think! So we were able to check in our bags and get our boarding passes right at the comfort of our hotel! The staff was super friendly and we ordered Amazon Prime Now for groceries such as milk and water and they didn’t charge for that! We ordered it 2-3x. I think they charge for Amazon but not Amazon Prime Now? Overall the staff was great and friendly! Only cons: Beds were super lumpy! I normally can sleep anywhere but these beds were not good Bathrooms are nothing special and slightly dated but the sinks are outside the bathroom so it was easy for me to wash bottles etc. The lobby had a water dispenser w fruits infused in it but it’s almost always empty... every time we pass by it’s just ice... Overall a nice stay but given the price tag expected better beds!

"Weekend getaway"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5

I recently stayed at AKL for a weekend fun getaway. I’ve stayed here before, 10+ years ago and remember waking up to giraffes and animals outside my balcony in the morning. So I asked when checking in for a great view of the animals. I spent 20 minutes discussing this. I was disappointed when finally checking in my room that was of construction and cranes, mud pit, and no animals each day. Seeing a vulture and one peacock is not a great view. I did not ask for a better room because I didn’t want to waste my precious limited time switching. I guess that is my mistake. The room was just an average hotel room. Our bed was hard. I hardly think that room was worth the $650/night I spent. There was nothing interesting to take pictures of so I can’t show you how horrible the view was. The hotel lobby was beautiful. The cafeteria style restaurant had good food. Pool was small & extremely crowded in and around it. Water was cold. One tiny hot tub crowded. Long waits for buses to parks. Sometimes they didn’t show up. Took Uber twice to parks. Farthest bus trip of all hotels to park. I called to complain about the cost of our stay and was told nothing they can do except maybe done Disney magic for future stay. I won’t ever go back there. Stay someplace cheaper and closer.

"Time flies on an overnight stay"
TripAdvisor user rating 5 out of 5

We were celebrating an anniversary and knew we wanted to eat at the restaurants in the AK Lodge, so we thought we would splurge and stay on property just overnight. I got a great rate on a workplace deals website and since it was just for a standard room, I didn't expect a view. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that we did have a partial view of the savannah and the watering hole where the giraffes and ostriches mill about. We were very near construction, but beggars can't be choosers - and funnily enough, one particular ostrich sat in front of the construction as though the crew were doing its own show for him. (Took a picture but it didn't translate well; guess you had to be there!) We hadn't even mentioned an anniversary or special occasion, so we were very impressed and thrilled that the cast member who checked us in gave us a great view. The rooms are comfy and beautifully decorated, even in the standards. My only minor gripe is the necessity of the Magic Band - seems like a lot of to-do just for an overnight stay, but you really can't opt out these days and just get a plain ol' room key. This is by far one of the best resorts on property, especially if you don't care about going to the parks at all! It's basically its own park, anyway.

"A Nice Place to Stay with Good Safari Views"

We just returned from a six night stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We stayed in a one bedroom villa on the 5th floor in Jambo House. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. Pros: Beautiful lobby and grounds Gorgeous safari views Well stocked store/gift shop Mostly very friendly staff Multiple dining options Very large heated pool Online check in was excellent and convenient Cons: Very long walk to the room itself The room felt very dated - especially the kitchenette and bathroom We dined at Boma and Sanaa and thought the food was average at best. The staff at the poolside bar were terrible - very slow and rude (the only bad service we experienced in all of Disney).

"Animal Kingdom Lodge 2019"

We enjoyed this resort overall. We had a nice view of the animals from our room and it was special to be able to watch them. Couple of items to note. Many people will say animal kingdom lodge has the best food of any Disney resort. We did not find this to be true. They have some unique foods but compared to other deluxes I'd say the food was average. You could possibly have a very long walk from your room to the lobby. From our room to our car in the lot was around 1000 steps. This resort is priced at a deluxe According to Disney. But after staying around at all the Deluxes I feel the expectation should be more of a moderate. Still a very nice resort and special for any animal lovers out there.
