One review I read before we arrived said not to expect much, however it was really interesting. You sit in church pews and view scenes and listen to narration about the life of Christ. It was peaceful and informational and well done. They also gave us free parking and said to enjoy walking around town after our visit.

"Good audio tour"

This was a good audio tour of different scenes and verses from the bible. My family enjoyed it. At the end there is a garden with a stone Jesus head that watches you no matter which direction you move in that was really neat. You get all day parking for 5.00 a good deal. The lady at the front made us feel welcomed and chatted with us before and after the tour. The only downside was they do not allow you to take pictures of the audio tour.

My (now) standard Gatlinburg disclaimer: I'm reviewing this location against other Gatlinburg attractions. Gatlinburg is not Disney, not Universal, and not a huge metropolis. So its locations shouldn't be compared to those. Christ in the Smokies is a "self-guided" tour of 12 scenes of Jesus' life. You move from scene to scene as recorded narration plays. As the narration ends, you move to the next scene. Total tour time is about 40 minutes, and at the end you step into the covered garden. I really enjoyed this attraction. There was clearly a lot of effort made in the construction of each scene, and the narration was also very good, well-voiced and using Bible verses as the script. A couple of the scenes were a little overdone, and a few of the human figures looked suspiciously like they may have come from the now-defunct Hollywood Wax Museum, but a lot of love and care went into each scene. The garden was not very large, but it was warm and, on the day I was there, empty, so it was very relaxing. Do make sure you look at the marble sculpture of Jesus' face. It's unique. The final part is a small museum with some historical artifact replicas, and a rather lengthy display speculating on the second coming of Jesus, and the predictions made by Revelation. I'll opt not to comment on this part other than to say some of it needs to be updated. Overall, it's a neat experience, a throwback attraction whose influence you can see on newer, more popular tourist attractions. I never made it to Christus Gardens, but I suspect this is probably an upgraded, improved version.
