"Hotel stay"
August, 2018
I stayed at this motel a few times before going to the park . I was really surprised and disappointed when I saw how run down the place had gotten. Walking through you could smell a dead mouse or rat. Inside the room there was lots of dust and hair. The microwave and mini fridge wasn’t as clean as it should’ve been. There use to be a Denny’s connected to the place and that was completely closed. Because this motel is literally across the parking lot from kings dominion you would think it would be the best but it’s not. I honestly wouldn’t stay there again. Although the staff was very nice it’s just not worth my comfort

Hotel room was clean, however didn’t appreciate had “do not disturb” sign on door when I left to shop for the day, I come back and the sign is gone and my clothes and belongings were touched and beds were made. On top of it, maid knocked over my drink next to my bed and didn’t even bother to clean it up. I made a complaint ASAP after returning and front desk did nothing not even offer to have someone come clean it or anything. Other then that, bathroom clean. I enjoyed having cold cold AC and being able to turn on and off. Enjoyed free ice + ice bucket. Bathroom lighting and sink was amazing if you’re a girl.

"Decent Stay"
July, 2018
The rooms are within walking distance of Kings Dominion which was great! The rooms were standard, nothing great but not the worst, it served the purpose for what we needed. We were not there most of the time we were at the amusement park all day. The pool was clean, table tennis (table needs to be replaced). Local food eateries were approximately within 15 minutes. I would stay again

I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so happy that I chose to judge for myself. This place was everything my husband and I needed, convenience to Kings Dominion, comfortable bed to plop on after we were exhausted from the park, courteous employees. If you are looking for fancy you are not gonna find it,but you are also gonna miss out on a wonderful hotel, Thanks Centerstone Inn for making our vacation wonderful

The room wasn't bad, the park was within walking distance & the pool was clean. I was a little disappointed about the Dennys no longer being attached to the hotel anymore. The good part was we found places to eat within 10 mins away at the most. The customer service was great as well. I would recommend this hotel & I also will be choosing this for my place of stay again

Don't book at this hotel, it is very crappy and not taken care of. Our room was okay sized, but there was nothing to wash with in the bathroom the towels smelt like a chemical lab and they were making up the beds outside in the grass. The TV kept losing service and the beds smelt disgusting! Go ahead and spend the extra money on a better hotel and you won't regret it.

We stayed here in January as a "quick rest" spot for our travels from FL to CT. I use the word "rest" loosely as we didn't get any. Upon arrival i noticed that the hotel was off the main road and set back in a dimly lit area. The entrance way & front parking lot were uninviting and EMPTY! (Should have been a sign) Aside from the other 2 cars in the back lot, we were the only ones staying there, (another sign) now i know why. After opening the door to the room my feeling of the sleezy "one nighter" hotel that i got from pulling up to the place initially was confirmed. I don't need to go on and on and trash the place i believe they did the job well enough as themselves you can see from the photos. Honestly, they should be shut down by the board of health. They got 1 star basically because you can't not give it any less then 1 star and also because i don't know how but i managed to go home with no bugs (of any kind), which i find truly amazing given the shape of the room. The only reason we stayed after seeing it was because we had been on the road for 13 hrs, we were all sick and were traveling with 2 dogs and didn't have the energy to go any further. Unfortunately the room had been booked ahead of time as our friends had stayed there in the past and apparently at one point in time they were a descent hotel. Also after seeing the rooms we inquired and there were no other hotels in the immediate area that would take dogs and had availability. Thankfully it was only one night or should i say about 6 hours. Six hours too long in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and don't bother staying here.

First, the good things. The hotel is practically IN the park. You can see many rides and hear the screams from rollercoasters. You can even smell foods. The parking lot abuts the KD parking lot, and most people just walk to the gates from the hotel. The rooms are large. BUT. The hotel is really old, and has been updated several times, across name changes. Thus, some rooms are really worn out. Heating and cooling are antiquated. The restaurant is shut down. And the traffic in and out is family and tourist heavy. But what other options do yo have? In Doswell, not many. There are a small group of hotels across the road from KD, but they suffer from the same issues as the Centerstone. If you are spending a night or two with a group of kids, ask for more recently updated rooms and spend most of your time in KD. Then you'll be fine. Know that prices for ALL hotels near KD have prices that shoot up from KD opening day throughout the summer, as they are the only game in town unless you stay in the Richmond burbs and drive the half hour north. Just a piece of advice: Going to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is a better experience all around, and hotels are more appropriately priced with a much wider selection.

I was hired by the State Fair of VA to perform at the event and put up at this hotel. So, the staff knew we weren't paying for our room personally. At first, they tried to put us into a smoking room, which I politely declined because I have two small children. They then put us into a room that they "knew was empty because they just moved someone out of it". The room had not been cleaned, there was a wet towel made up in one of the beds, and it and smelled overwhelmingly like mold. I am allergic to mold and suffered ear and sinus drainage throughout the stay. We were told there were absolutely no other rooms available for our 3-day stay. The carpet was consistently wet and there was a leak from the shower which presumably caused said mold. The room should have never been rented. Upon departure, I asked that the company not have to pay the full amount and the customer service representative was very rude.

"DID NOT HONOR GUARANTEED RESERVATION. PROVIDED NO RESOLUTION."
TripAdvisor user rating 1 out of 5

Booked a "family" room for Friday night because it was next to Kings Dominion and we planned on being in the park late. The reservation was guaranteed by credit card and I called the hotel two days before arrival to reconfirm. When we arrived to check in at the hotel (at 7pm) we were told they were sold-out and could not provide us a room. Hotel management offered no resolution (such as providing us space in another hotel) and basically said they would do nothing for us. THIS WAS A GUARANTEED RESERVATION!!! If we had not tried to check in that night, they would have charged our credit card. When we did try to check in, they turned us away. Lesson learned: AVOID THE CENTERSTONE INN. THEY DO NOT HONOR GUARANTEED RESERVATIONS. Luckily, I ran into the manager of a nearby Motel 6 who was able to free up a room even though they were also reported to be sold-out. The only thing the Centerstone Inn provided was an hour long period of aggravation, frustration, and hassle.
