"WOW! Neat place"
December, 2018
My kids wanted to go here, and I was less than enthused. I am so glad that we went ! The museum houses a history of the criminal justice system in America from colonial times to present. Included are witch trials, pirates, gangsters, moonshiners, organized crime, etc. Some of the exhibits are cool, such as the autopsy area, some are interesting, such as the prohibition era, and some like the 9/11 part are sobering. I teach criminal justice at the college level and I learned some things here. You could easily spend an entire day here. There is an audio tour which is a bit extra, and worth it. There is also an add-on "detective" hunt for a missing item which will make the museum more fun for younger visitors and there is a game where you must not trip the laser security which was fun. OJ's infamous jeep is there are several other vehicles. The building seems larger on the inside than it looks on the outside. A highlight of our vacation

"Educational fun experience"
December, 2018
Me and my family had an amazing experience at Alcatraz East Museum. We spent four hours and took the VIP tour. There was so much to experience. With the VIP tour you get admission with audio, top detective challenge, and the heist. It is well worth the money. You learn and interact with all aspects of crime. From history, police department, gathering evidence and so much more. The facilities was very well maintained and clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back because with there being so much I know I probably missed one or two things. To me I feel like if you visit everytime you come to visit Pigeon Forge there will always be something that you will learn or say to yourself hey I didn't see that the last time I visited.

"Not what I expected"
August, 2018
It was ok. I will not be doing that again. All it was reading boards after boards. The website said it was interacted. I did not see much of that and it did have interesting pictures. The website should said that kids under the age of 10 should not come. It was boarding to them. So of the exhibits did not work either for interaction.

"An Excellent Experience into the World of Crime"

The Alcatraz East Crime Museum is a great experience, it packs a lot for the price of admission. The museum starts with early medieval crime and punishment methods an devices. As you progress through the museum it goes through the ages. Early colonial life, pirates, the wild west, organized crime (the original gangsters). Mafia, serial killers, unsolved cases, notorious killers and crime, 9/11, law enforcement, prisons, and CSI forensics. Towards the end they had a 2nd amendment exhibit and a temporary exhibit displaying some vehicles of notorious criminals. OJ's Bronco, Bundy's Beetle. The museum is jammed pack with artifacts and information of history's crime and its criminals. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

"Hard to enjoy with children"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5
Reviewed March 24, 2019 NEW
I honestly loved all the different events time frames and lifestyles, but figured we would hear more about ALCATRAZ. It is a lot of reading but if you have children to keep up with it makes it tricky to read and enjoy. And the adio sticks are 5.00 a piece on top of ticket prices. A guide or someone giving information in each room would have been nice and a little more enjoyable. A little more control in the ONLY room the kids could enjoy with the Lazer lights and games would be nice. we waited for a long time for the kids to play, and never got a turn cause there is no one to keep everyone moving.lots of Un accompanied children who never left that section.

Loved the exibits. However if your an ID buff you knew most of info. Took 2 hours to tour, missed some stuff do to some people lingering so long on some exibits. Inconsiderate kids not controlled by parents. Alot of reading, so highly suggest purchasing the recording tour. Recommend this, just go on weekday when very few kids.
