Hawaii Travel and Tourism Expert Joins Travel Technology Company, ReserveDirect

Daryl Matsuo, a 20-year veteran of Hawaii travel and tourism, has joined ReserveDirect to further development of the Hawaiian Islands tourism market.  Matsuo, a resident of Honolulu, was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii’s most visited island, and brings extensive travel industry experience to the company.

Matsuo will be representing ReserveDirect’s local travel website, ReserveHawaii.com. As Market Manager, he will foster travel supplier relationships and destination opportunities throughout the islands. Matsuo will also act as liaison between Hawaii travel suppliers and other ReserveDirect employees to best address product and consumer needs.

Like all of ReserveDirect’s travel websites, the company recognized the importance of building a local presence to become an expert in the destination. “We felt it was an important step in the market to find a representative that not only was local but also had experience and belief in our service,” said John Johnson, President of ReserveDirect.  “Daryl understands the market and industry and will aid us in delivering a better products to our customers and better results to our travel suppliers.”

Before joining ReserveDirect, Matsuo worked with Grayline Tours and the Alana Waikiki Hotel, both in Honolulu. He’s also held various positions with Honolulu-based Northwest Airlines, including seven years in Agency Sales, where he bundled Hawaiian travel products with air service. Additionally, he spent 10 years as District Sales Manager for Northwest Airlines.

ReserveDirect is a travel reservation company that focuses on specific travel destinations, offering local expertise and reservations for activities and luaus as well as lodging and hotel reservations to vacationers, families and businesses.
